This folding seat met all my expectations regarding quality and sturdiness. I did return the first one I received because of some damage to the seat finish. The return process was easy and a replacement was shipped quickly. The company was very good with communication. The replacement seat was perfect. Installation was relatively easy. Basically 4 screws. 2 screws went directly into studs.. The other two in drywall needed anchors. I had issues with the included anchors. Too long for my application. Had some in a miscellaneous drawer that were shorter and they worked just fine. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.

I'll start by saying that this product is exactly what I was looking for. It's the perfect, sturdy bench to install in a hallway to use while putting on your shoes. So what's the problem? The problem is that the holes to install the bench to the wall at 14" apart, not 16". The seller includes drywall anchors to mount the bench to drywall but I WOULD NOT Do this, as the anchors will work themselves out and destroy the drywall since they will regularly be supporting 100+ lbs. This means that you cannot install the bench directly to the wall without installing blocking or something to solidly mount the bench. On top of that, the installation instructions are complete trash and do not include installation height (for reference we install ours at 27" from the floor and that seems to be perfect). So all told, the bench is well-made, perfect for what we wanted, it's just an absolute pain to install properly.

I purchased and installed this wall-mounted folding chair in January of this year and have been using it almost daily since then, for about 8 months total. The folding and unfolding action of it has not changed, so the mechanisms are stable so far. You should notice in the photos that mine has a handle about 1/3 of the way from the top, I added that. The notch type handle area in the bottom looks nice but that's all the good I can say about it. If you need a seat to put your shoes on, you probably don't want to be reaching to the floor to close a wall seat. That's not the main reason I installed the handle. The main reason is that the seat is held closed by a friction fit at the top, and pulling at the bottom doesn't work to open it. At least it didn't with mine. I purchased concealed recess pulls and installed one. Other handle types can be used but it didn't protrude. The mounting screws and wall anchors that came with the seat were strange. The screws were much longer than the anchors, I tossed them long ago so I can't measure, but as I recall, they were about 3 inches long. The plastic anchors were maybe 1-1/2" long. I tried using one of the screws into a stud and it quickly bent. They were made from very soft steel that bent easily. I am one to save unused hardware for future use but discarded these, which tells you how useful the screws are. The mounting holes are about 14" on center, possibly 14-1/8". I was able to get them into studs in my application. As stated earlier, I use this seat almost daily. I actually don't sit on it, I use it to put my foot up to tie my shoes. Sitting on it is fine too, it is strong enough, but I find it faster and easy to use the way I do. This item had a lack of reviews so I figured it needed one, thanks for reading.

The wall chair is perfect for our mud room. My wife loves how it folds up out of the way.
