This area runs out of larger sizes quickly so it was a relief to order and receive quickly another fly mask when one of my horses tore the previous one. Very durable brand and fits well.

My horse likes this mask and doesn’t try to rub it off. I like that it has a soft fluffy material inside that raises the mask off his brow. It was a little larger than needed for my horse’s narrow face but because of the double Velcro closures it’s easy to tighten it up. The ear space is also ample for him. I would definitely recommend and will try to buy this again when needed.

Fly mask is great. Pros: it stays on, it fits well, the eye area doesn’t invert and rub at his eyes, and the mesh over the eyes is durable. Cons: the soft fabric mesh over the ears ripped in multiple places and isn’t durable. Good value for money.

My Friesian Sporthorse has a draft size head. I’ve tried so many fly masks that advertised as oversize but were still too tight and laid against the eyes risking eye injury. NOT THIS MASK! This mask is perfect for my bigger horse. The darting around the eyes provides ample clearance to avoid eye injury. It’s not tight. The fleece protection is great. The fine mesh is good quality. If you have bigger horse, I recommend this 100% It’s worth the money.

This is by far the very best fly mask that I have ever purchased over the past 50 years ( yes I am even older). The sizing chart for my pony was exactly right and the mask is a perfect fit. I assume it is comfortable for her as she has not once rubbed it off. The mesh stays away from her eyes. The two Velcro straps are very strong. This is a high quality mask that I highly recommend.

I am very happy with this mask. My mare has a severe condition called Pythiosis. Without a proper fly mask she is prone to getting massive open flesh wounds that take over her eyes and face that Do Not heal! The condition around the eyes doesn’t seem to get aggravated or become a problem unless flys have access to the eyes. She need a mask all day every day. I have used every mask and this one is by far the best fit and most effective one yet!! The bungee around the heck keep the flies from entering and the nose piece is a snug fit to keep flies at bay. The second best thing is that the mesh is far out and off her eyes. There is no rubbing. Rubbing from mesh will also cause the condition to flair. She can see just fine out of the mesh also. The ear piece length is long so her are not rubbing either. It’s made from good quality material and looks good.100% recommend!

This mask is shaped to keep it out of the horses eyes. There is an elastic band at the poll, that makes the mask stay in place much better than most. The throat latch strap fits somewhat behind the jawbone, which seems to keep the mask in place.A second velcro strap also helps keep the mask secure. The ear fabric is soft,.Two minor complaints. There is no forelock opening. Cut it and sewed the raw edges. Bought the largest size, it just goes round my Belgian. The straps could be an inch or more longer.Over all, I'm exceptionally pleased with the fit and features of this. maskAn added bonus is the brighter color, which if it comes off makesIt easier to find.

Ottima

I decided to try these fly masks because they were a tad bit cheaper than the normal Cashel's that I buy. I need at least two sets of masks so I do not have to wash them every single night. I purchased two regular masks with ears and one mask with ears and a nose. I had to order the one with the nose from SmartPak.The masks are very well made. They are roomy and have two velcro straps under the chin. I wish that the flap that you pull under to attach to the velcro was a little bit shorter because on my one horse, the flaps extend beyond the velcro and have nothing to stick to. He actually took his off two days in a row. There are darts that keep the mask off of the eyes, which is great. The mesh is fine, but for some reason, if my horse rolled, the dirt came through the mask and got into his eyes. I don't remember that happening with the Cashel's.My biggest problem with the mask is that there is no forelock hole. I'm guessing it's because Cashel has a patent on that, so they couldn't put one in. Unfortunately, one is really needed, especially if your horse has a thick forelock. My two geldings have almost no forelock, so really that was not an issue with them. My mare, however, is a draft with a long and thick forelock. Without the hole to pull the hair through, the forelock just kind of sits under the mask and makes a big lump. She was able to remove the mask because of this. I am going to try to see if I can get some holes put in them to make them more user friendly. I have already drafted my boss because she is a good seamstress and can get it done with no problem. All in all, I'd say it's a nice mask. I do not know if the UV protection is as good as the Cashel's, but don't quote me on it. I would definitely give it a try if you have a horse with not much forelock hair. Mine have only worn them a few times, so I cannot comment on the durability yet. I ended up ordering about six more Cashel's and they wear them primarily right now unless they are dirty. Oh, forgot to say that the nose piece zippers off of the mask if you decide not to use it.
