  • Measure each foot in cm. Use the larger foot for sizing. For wide feet, choose a wide model or go 1-2 sizes larger.

  • Cycling shoes prioritize stability and power efficiency. A proper fit is snug, supports the arch, allows slight toe movement. Excessive heel slippage indicates sizing issues. Check seams, straps, and folds for comfort.

  • SHIMANO DYNALAST offers standard and wide lasts, catering to 90% of riders. The wide last suits those with broader feet, ensuring a better fit without requiring a size increase.

  • A cycling shoe’s sole is engineered to support your foot in a stable position and distribute pressure from the pedal with little flex while pedaling. Therefore, it does not flex like most footwear when you walk in them.

  • SHIMANO does not use any animal byproducts in the production of our cycling shoes.

Solid shoes! Super rigid and easy to take on and off. The Boa system is fabulous and far easier to use than velcro or ratchet systems.

Incredibly comfortable on short 1 hr sprints or 156 mile long races. Very happy with these shoes. Softer than many of the overly rigid shoes I've tried. Just very comfortable, while having great energy transfer. 156 mile race last month zero issues - no blisters, no numb toes, no hot-spots. Love these shoes.

Likes: works as advertised, good fit, and feels good clipped in once adjusted.Dislike: feet will be uncomfortable until adjusted properly and on particularly hot days your feet will swell slightly.

Bike shoe fit can be a tricky thing. What fits great for one person, doesn't for another and vice versa. I bought a pair of XC-SH502s after my much less expensive pair of Shimano XC-100 broke (but was easily repairable). The SH502 looks like a terrific shoe and is well constructed and sturdy. The single boa helps make for adjusting for the right snugness and is easily releasable/adjustable, although the velcro toe strap doesn't allow for much of an adjustment in snugness. My problem is that after long rides, my feet hurt in ways that the my much less expensive & boa-less Shimano XC-100 shoes have never done. My feet swell on most rides, but I've had swelling & hotspots that I haven't experienced in the past, particularly in my left foot, and the toe area of the shoe seems to be more cramped than any other SPD 'clipless' shoes that I've worn.In fact, I've gone back to using my XC-100 on a regular basis despite the lack of a boa simply because they are comfortable and truth be told, perform as well, while I've saved using the SH-XC502s for shorter group rides and mainly for aesthetics since they're eye candy and I want to get some use out of them. Cue sunk cost fallacy, I suppose.I'm a dedicated Shimano fan and rarely disappointed by their gear or bike components, so count me as being a little disappointed about the comfort issue. But again, this might be particular to me as I am a bigger rider and shoe fit is a very individualistic thing. And despite this, I'd reiterate the shoes are extremely well made, which was never a question in my mind. Also, while there was a window for me to return them, I had missed it before really putting the shoes to the test. Lesson learned, I guess.

Decided to upgrade from XC3 to XC5 to get the BOA closer to the ankle. Makes a big difference for confidence the shoe will stay on. Especially when walking the bike uphill. One thing I was surprised by was the comfort of this shoe. The inside materials are very soft and supportive almost like a regular sneaker.

Have not had higher end clipless shoes before. I use these for road bike use because I'm used to SPD cleats and pedals. Fit was true to size. Adjustability of cleat location allowed fir a huge range of adjustment. I have normal width feet. I was worried these were too snug on width. After reading a lot on them, I decided to give them a try. Wow! What difference! I feel much more locked in on bike/pedal. Width holds my foot still, but not uncomfortably. Love the recessed cleat, so I can stop for a coffee without sounding like a tap dancer. Love these shoes, highly recommend!

I wasn't sure at first about the boa design since I've always worn Shimano cycling shoes with 2 velcro straps and adjustable buckle strap. The boa design is AWESOME and shoes fit like a tailored glove!
