It can be used with any leash, however we recommend our three handle leashes! Simply buckle in and attach the leash's D-ring (if available) or handle into the carabiner and off you go. So I have a big service dog and I use a cane. I have handsfree crossbody leashes, but the problem with them is there's no waist strap to use to keep it held close to my body. Now he stays right at my side usually pressing against my leg, so it's never a worry that he won't. It's more of a matter of comfort to me and keeping the crossbody part of the leash where I want it to be on my body and not having to constantly adjust it.And to be honest, there are a lot of just plain stupid/rude people in the world who refuse to be respectful and keep their distance. They think we're like some circus show act just there to amuse them, think they have the right to put their hands on him, ask me stupid disrespectful questions about my personal private healthcare info, ask me stuff about him that's none of their business... then they have the nerve to get mad when I won't answer their stupid questions or give them any info...So it's as much my job to take care of and look out for him as he does for me! Part of that is keeping him glued to my side and away from/running interference from strangers. He actually doesn't like it when strangers try to touch him, especially his head. So the nicest way he can avoid that is if I stop to look at/get something he will turn and face me, he lays down and puts his head between my feet. So people can't get to his head/face...So this handy little strap has just solved my problem for me! I've tried using a belt before and it just didn't work, I've tried other "waist" hands free leashes that sadly were cheaply made and just weren't right either. This belt is adjustable so I can get the perfect fit! It has the extra D rings so I can use double ended spring snap clips on the leash to hook to it and keep it right where I want it! I also love that they can be clipped together with the carabiner for added security on the plastic locking clip. The plastic locking clip is a good sie, clicks securely when locked in on both sides, it's sturdy. It's not a fragile/brittle plastic like some I've seen. The hardware is good, stitching is good, good webbing... I got this in the black, it comes in pink too. They need to do this in more colors!If you've had trouble like me finding the perfect handsfree waist strap, then this might be a good option for you too!Regular price $ 19.99 per the listing, on sale $ 12.99 and it's worth it!As always I only do honest reviews and update if needed. I absolutely love it, never realized how nice it is to not have to hold onto a leash anymore. I also bought their three handle bungee leash to go with it, works great.

I had tried hands free leashes before but they leash it came with was horrible and I had no choice but to use the one that came with it. Ended up being useless. Love this new one since I can use with any of my leashes! Pretty amazing!!

I don't think I'd feel comfortable using this belt with a large dog. Not without additional "insurance" of some kind, anyway. One of the metal D-rings is held onto the belt via a piece of plastic. See pictures.The carabiner looks weak in some spots, meaning that you likely should replace that carabiner with a higher quality one if you own a big dog. Depending on how the carabiner happens to twists around / rotate while you are on your walk, you could end up in a situation where a lot of force is exerted on the feeble-looking wire gate. My husband joked that the wire gate looks about as strong as a commercial paperclip.I am unlikely to use this belt with my dogs. I don't trust it.

I wasn’t sure if it would work because I have a dog that pulls. I’m glad to share that I’m extremely happy with my purchase. I like that after the belt clips there are 2 rings that connect with the carabiner and your leash. I was afraid that it would be uncomfortable, but it’s quite comfortable. I normally wrap the leash around my wrist and hold it with my hand which can be a little painful, but now my hands are free which makes it easier to pick up poop as well.

I got one of these because my neighbor didn't like my dog being off-leash for obvious reasons.
