Packaging was fine. The plastic case the tool setter comes in was fine. The tool itself looked fine other than the needle used to read the height wasn't attached. My first tool from Shar's doesn't inspire confidence for the replacement or any other possible future orders from this brand. If the replacement tool works as expected then I will update this review. As of right now, I'm really bummed because I waited a week to get it and could really use it.I was able to send the indicator back and I received a new one in the mail pretty quickly. Worked as it should. Have spent some time using it now as well. Happy to report that it has held up for awhile now. Happy I purchased it. Unfortunately sometimes quality doesn't catch everything going out the door. Realities of life.

Works great for touching off on VTC, VTL, Lathes, and Mills; vertical and horizontal.It’s a great price compared to others, comes in a great case to keep safe padded with foam for drop protection. Super easy to calibrate, comes calibrated and has super simple easy to read guide in the event you need to change calibration. You won’t find a better price for this sorta tool. The quality is 9/10 and price is 10/10. I’ve used 3 other “name brand” touch off blocks and none compare!It has a tough exterior, water proof gauge, easy to read dial, and is super precise. As long as you know your machine it’s a great addition to your toolbox. I’d might even go as far as saying it’s the most handy time-saving tool and most durable tool in my box!

Makes life so easy and saves time. Tool and work offsets are fast now with no guessing. Saw a bad review on another similar product because the guy never calibrated it. I used the 2 inch side of a123 block to set the indicator up top. Moved offset tool under the indicator and it will be .1 inch above 2 inches, set the dial to zero to be .1 inch above 2 inches. Depress offset tool down .1 inch and both dials should match up at 2 inches also. Now your set. Now when you do work or tool offsets just move .1 inch down into the offset indicator tool and you are ready to go! Good luck.

Good price for personal use at work. Have not seen much discrepancy. Difficult for me to see since I’m farsighted and wear safety glasses with magnifiers on the bottom of them forcing me to crouch and crank my neck up to see the dial.

I really like this tool, makes my tool offsets on the CNC mill pretty accurate. Saw videos on Youtube demonstrating similar ones, glad I gave it a try.
