The material is similar to leatherette over cloth and I suspect the plastic will start to peel away with extended use or misuse but fir the price and quantity, that’s not much of an issue and will probably only happen with extended use. They are moisture resistant but stitched, so definitely not waterproof but okay for use outdoors.**Ease of Use for Beginners:**For someone new to juggling, these balls are a decent buy, especially for learning with friends. They have a bit of weight, not enough for my liking, but probably perfect for others, especially younger learners and beginners. They are soft, making them easy to toss and catch while mastering basic juggling techniques, and because they are “sacks” they don’t roll very far when dropped on a flat surface, making learning easier and less frustrating. The lighter weight helps protect furnishings of used indoors.
