Pretty bad. It had been used by the time I got it. There was metal residue on the blades. I wanted to test its ability to cut 16ga. stainless, so I gave it a shot. I managed about a 4 inch cut (pretty much had to force my way through...). I had also purchased a set of replacement blades for the thing, so I changed to new blades. It functioned fine for about an 8 inch cut, then nothing. Keep shopping for a better one.

I was doing a unique job of putting in 55, 4’x8’ sheets of hardie panel. It was the bottom 3’ of the wall, below a chair rail. So I had 55 sheets that I had to rip to 3’x8’. I bought this tool but did not think it would last. Well it did. It cuts clean, little to no airborne dust, and follows a line with ease. Last of the 55 8’ rips was as clean and effortless as the first. Used on 5/16” hardie panel. Makes an 8’ cut in 20 seconds or so. Also, I had some boards that I had to shave an extra 1/8” off to make them fit right. The gap in the shears is 1/4”, but you can ride just one of the guides and make a minute cut. Doesn’t cut as smooth as a angle grinder, and can’t make butt joints with it. But still a pretty clean cut.

Perfect for cutting sheet metal or metal roof. I need to cut metal roofing material and using hand cutters took a bit of work when going over the ridges. This cut through very fast. For the money versus the major brands at 3x the price, I would definitely recommend this unit.

Worked well on aluminum siding. Smooth and easy to guide. Siding is thin. No complaints so far

I have used this shear on 1/2" thick HardieBacker with HydroDefense and uncoated 1/4" thick cement boards for my shower and it works really well. The variable speed trigger makes it easy to cut effortlessly. It cuts circles better than I expected, but for a round drain hole I used a hole saw outside. It requires carefully holding the shear level when getting to the end of the board to get a complete clean cut. I found it very intuitive to get good cuts keeping the tool in the same attitude and varying the speed for different feed rates.

I was skeptical as hell but it just sails along cutting cement board. Make your lines with a black sharpie. Two people is bettersometimes to hold the offcuts. Try a practice peice to get used to it.

I am in the process of residing my entire house over three summers at very roughly 1600 sq ft of siding. I am a little over half done now and one summer remaining. The siding I am using is 6.25 inch fiber cement board siding. The shears give pretty good cuts very quickly and easily and with no dust. The correct blade on a miter saw will give a "better cut" but that has downsides of dust and setting up for the cut. I would guess that about 75% of the cuts I have made have been using the shears and about 25% using a blase. The cut with a blade is a little better but most of the time you do not need the cut that good if the edge is covered by trim and you do get better at using the shears. If you are going to do any quantity of siding, these shears should be part of the tools available.

This does long cuts with ease that I couldn't do very well with snips. Very smooth if you can follow a line. It does mar the surface a bit on either side of the cut, but does not curl the edges.
c'est la vie🎉😘
