The items are as described. These are not short wave UV for florescence rocks. But good basic black light.

I ordered two sets of 2 flashlights (one for me & three for 3 grandsons). When I tried out one of the flashlights, it worked great! It helped me to find the tomato hornworms that had been eating all my tomato plants! But when it came time to give my grandsons their flashlights, I was unable to get one of them to work, because one of the springs that holds the battery in place was missing. So I gave them my flashlight. Unfortunately, I just missed the "Return" due date - but I love the flashlights if they aren't defective, so I'm gonna go ahead and order another set and hope they both work.

I bought my daughter a dragon carved from emberlite. It is a stone that glows like embers under a black light. She has a room that has a black light in a lamp and she has a piece of art hanging on the wall that reacts to black light. I bought the flashlights so that when I gave her the dragon at Christmas, we could use the flashlight on it, to see it right then, before she took it home. They worked perfectly for that. Apparently you can also use them to spot urine which flouresces under black lights. If you have animals that you suspect are sneaking in a pee while in the house, you can use these lights to find it and then thoroughly clean it.
