This prep spray is essential if you are painting PVC door panels. I made the mistake of skipping this step on my first set, and the correct SEM paint flecks off every time I touch it. Using this prep spray on my second set, the bond is amazing. I works exactly as advertised.

It seems to me that SEM Color Coat doesn't stick to plastic as well as it used to. I don't know whether this is because of reformulation due to VOC compliance or what, but Sand Free seems to fix the problem. Perhaps this is the chemical they removed from the paint? That's just speculation on my part, but it does make the paint stick better.

After calling SEM and getting some very helpful information from a nice gentleman, this was a simple job. I'm changing the color of the interior of my classic car, and I started with the console. After you spray the Sand Free, you have 30 seconds to lay down the first coat of paint. (The paint was also SEM for hard plastic). Apply 2-3 coats. I reassembled the console, and it looks great! Hopefully it will stand the test of time, as far as scratching or peeling...fingers crossed.

SEM finishes are reliable. I used this on ABS plastic interior parts before applying the color coat. The adhesion was excellent. Flammable, so read and follow directions from SEM. More info on their website too.

I used this to paint the faded fenders on a jeep wrangler. This is the best plastic paint out there. Make sure you go to their website and follow the directions, you'll need more than just paint, but the final result is awesome.A friend used this paint on a dash of a car he was building. If you use this correctly on plastic, it won't look painted...it looks like the plastic was manufactured the color you paint it.Awesome stuff. If I need to paint plastic again, I'll be using this.
