I bought this drill powered pump to get the water out of my compost bin. I have two totes, one on bricks inside the other one. The idea was that any water would drain out of the top one and into the bottom. Then I just have to empty the bottom one. Then I read that the water is really good for plants. So I decided to pump the water out into my watercan.I still have to life my HALF FULL compost bin up far enough to get the hose into it. But then it works great. Pulls the water from the bin through the pump into the watercan. I've also used the pump for draining sinks, emptying buckets and other things. As long as you don't leave it outside to freeze, you should be good.

I had a leak from a bad 116 O ring under my coolant reservoir in my corvette. I used this pump to drain most of the dexcol from the reservoir tank.I did use Teflon tape at both ends. I also didn’t use the o rings that came in the kit. I have an assortment of o rings I got from harbor freight years ago for a better seal. No leaks and it worked great. If you’re using this for higher viscosity fluids (differential fluid). It may take some time or maybe break the seals. But I got to think it’ll be better than squeezing out thick fluid into an uncomfortable position above your head.

Works good enough for water, but in case of oil seems not perfect. The gasket is leaking when using oil, and not give a nice seal.
