The MaxiViz Solar Charging Security Camera Wireless Outdoor, 2K was a bargain purchase for less than $40. Although listed as an 'outdoor' camera, I have placed mine in an indoor SE facing window. The camera base and solar panel balance nicely on a window sill. The indoor location provides an adequate view without exposing camera, battery or solar panel to the elements. Not permanently mounting the camera also gives the flexibility to move the camera to other 'remote' viewing areas as needed.The lens has a wide viewing angle and the image resolution good enough to see detail of my yard as well as the neighboring property (even through the window's screen!). Battery life has been excellent. I have scheduled an overnight 'sleep time' of 7 hrs that likely helps with this. I find that in the 2 months of my use, the solar panel keeps the battery between 72-80%, even in our upstate NY cloudy/winter weather. Six days ago, I disconnected the solar panel and connected the cable for USB charging to confirm that the app's battery level reading was accurate. As seen in the image, the level is currently showing at 94%. Phenomenal!The app is straightforward and easily navigated. The camera connects quickly to the app and its features works as labeled. I have not subscribed to the additional (paid) services, nor have I enabled any notifications since my primary use for this cam is random monitoring the 'back 40' and local weather when we travel. I have other cameras that I use for 'security' purposes.

I purchased this product back in November to use at my new house. I ordered two, one for my front yard and one for the back yard. The product arrived quickly and was really easy to install. Just drill some holes, tap in the anchors and put in the screws.Setup was straight forward and really easy. You just turn on the product and follow the instructions on your phone through the Vicohome app.I've been using it for some months now and I did have some issues with connectivity when trying to live stream the feed. However, after moving my router around (it was being blocked) these issues were solved. The video feed is great quality (2k) and the notifications are quick and easy to view.I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone looking for some security on a budget

I purchased this for a rental property (previously used SimpliSafe cameras). These are much better then SimpliSafe is you are looking for affordable cameras.the image may not be as refined as more expense cameras but as you can see, the image quality is not bad but not great but you can still see what's going on at a property; the setup was easy, the speakerphone on the camera works great, affordable monthly recording price, and so far the battery is holding up with charge too.I would recommend this product so far for similar needs.

This camera is great. Set up was really easy and quick. It comes with its own little mount. The video quality is better than my ring doorbell. I use it to watch my dog when he’s in the backyard. I can see clearly night and day. It has the option for a subscription but you can also use it without the subscription and it keeps like 30 days worth of videos (great if you’re just using it for watching). The sound isn’t as loud as I’d like when I’m speaking but it’s decent. Battery life is great as well. I probably charge it once every few weeks. I charge my ring doorbell way more than I ever need to charge this camera. Definitely a good buy. I included a daytime, nighttime, and white light picture so you can see how the same scene looks at different points of the day

Setting things up is not my strong point, yet I had this little camera connected to the wifi, set up and running within minutes!! I love that it is compact, and has a stable base. You can screw it in place for a more permanent location, or, you can use it in different areas inside the house and simply set it to stand - and it's sturdy. Another feature is you can 'fine tune' what you want the camera to capture - animals, people, etc. The camera has a surprisingly long battery life. I love that it is waterproof, which means that it can be placed pretty much anywhere - and wireless adds to those possibilities. The video footage is very clear and of good quality ... another plus for this little device. The phone app is also user friendly and simple to use, which is very helpful. I can view 'live' action from anywhere, or review snippits of recorded 'events' that the camera picked up. I use it for multiple needs ... monitoring outside for security (and it still works in all weather conditions - rain, wind, snow, etc), keeping an eye on my cats while I am away, and I even used it to monitor an ailing fish while I was at work. I am about to set it up towards the yard where deer occasionally come through. The night vision shows a very clear picture for being such a low light situation - amazing details are captured! The view is expansive covering a large area with it's wide angle lens. It's uses are endless and this is something that I will incorporate in my life for years to come. I also appreciate it's reliability and price point. Overall, I am quite impressed with it's functionality, ease of setup and awesome performance.

The MaxiViz Solar Security Outdoor Camera is an awesome new security feature for my home. The 2K resolution provides clear video footage when the camera is activated by any movement at my front door. The solar-powered feature is super convenient which ensures the peace of mind for never to worry about recharging the battery. Its installation was pretty straight forward. Overall, the motion detection and night vision ensures that my home is well-protected. The camera also has the feature to activate an alarm or talk to the person at the door. I could also check my front door even when I'm at work. I highly recommend this product.

I'm super happy with the three cameras I ordered. The were a great price, great wifi range, easy install and set up. I have them on a timer and the batteries last a long time. I love the flashing and the sound options too. Notifications are fast and they give our family great security. Night vision looks amazing too. Thank you

Overall the picture and motion sensing looks and works well. Easy to set up.Where it is lacking for a security camera is even with the paid subscription the time recorded when triggered is way to short to be of benefit in any kind of investigation. Pretty much you will capture somebody entering the view but not what they did after walking up. The so called cloud cool down period between grabbing clips allows way too much time between clips to be of use. I would say maybe good as a door camera but the speaker volume when you talk through it is so low that it is barely heard even in a totally quiet environment. I gave it an extra star because of price and ease of set up was on target. Hopefully the alarm when activated will make who ever is stealing campaign signs look up for a face shot in the 7 seconds of recording but we probably wont catch them actually in the act of stealing the sign on video.

I got this on sale, but the full price point is pretty nice, too. I needed an inexpensive camera for an occasional specific situation (when someone is at the door while I'm working on the yard), so I didn't want to pay for a full security system or doorbell camera, since it wouldn't be used much.Turns out I'm using this camera way more than I expected because it is a great little device.Positive points:-Video is clear, with a wide viewing angle.-WiFi connectivity is reliable, and I can access the app from anywhere, which means I can also use this as a nanny cam for my pets, or as a Ring doorbell replacement when I'm expecting a package but I'm out running errands.-Two-way sound, so I can have conversations through the app.-Motion detection is great. I use the free version of the app, so I get notifications for any motion at all, but there's an option for an app subscription to get only smart notifications instead. I'd strongly recommend that if you're using the camera all the time so you don't get inundated with notifications on a windy day, haha.-There's an alarm that is obnoxious as heck, which is perfect if you're needing to scare something away from the camera area.-Battery charge seems to last a long time, though I haven't measured the specific length of time. Note that if you install this on a wall somewhere, you'll need to be able to easily USB charge it if you have the rechargeable version. The camera unscrews from the base pretty easily, so if it's in easy reach, you'll be good.-The company checked in with me to see if I was having any issues they could help with, totally unprompted, so customer service seems good, too.Overall, I'm super happy with this purchase. I know it's a bit of a gamble to buy inexpensive electronics online, so I hope this review helps anyone else mulling it over!
