Pinnacle BioLabs Second Generation FIT Colorectal Cancer Test is THE test used by physicians. The American College of Gastroenterologists recommend a FIT test annually to everyone over 45, and beginning at 45 for African Americans and American Indians. The FIT test is 98% sensitive, 96% specific -with Lab accurate results (for occult, or hidden, blood in the lower GI tract) NOTE: If this test comes back as positive, it DOES NOT necessarily mean you have colon cancer. It means you have blood in your stool, which should not be there, and you see a Gastroenterologist

The test was easy to use, but I noticed the test I received has the letters "FOB" at the top. This is different from what the test looks like on the cover of the box which says "FIT" and has "Pinnacle Biolabs" on the front. The discrepancy seemed a little odd to me. I did try to google the difference between a FIT test (Fecal Immunochemical Test) and an FOB test (Fecal occult blood test) and it's possible a FIT test is a type of FOB test.

I used the second test out of a two test pack purchased about one year ago. That version had suspension paper to keep the stool sample high and dry. I was supposed to collect the "dry" sample and wait between 4 - 7 minutes for the results. Well I missed the paper and decided to grab a wet sample from slightly below the water surface. I also missed checking the test window by going 1 minute over. POSITIVE! I had a positive reading. Given that I had completely failed to follow the directions I called customer support to see if that mattered. A live person answered the phone on the first try. He confirmed that my sample was contaminated and the I could not rely on the positive result being correct. I ordered a new kit (with different directions) and got my second negative.I bring this up because at least one review stated they got a false positive as well causing then to get an unneeded colonoscopy. Please confirm you followed directions to the letter to avoid a possible scare. If you have any problems call customer support. They are great.PS. I attached both the older (01/2023) and current (01/2024) kit pictures in case you have any questions of what I used.

This test was negative, but my doctor wanted me to do Cologuard which came back positive, so I had to endure a colonoscopy without anesthesia which was not fun. Nothing - not a polyp, nothing. Mr. doctor said Cologuard was better. Not in my case. This test was accurate.

The test is easy to use . Be careful interpreting the results . I was taking iron supplements when I did the test . It showed positive results 2 times. I had my colonoscopy scheduled . In the meantime I did a lab test but it took a lot of time for the results come back . I bought another set of tests , stopped taking iron supplements. Results came back negative. Luckily hyper plastic polyps were removed during colonoscopy. They were not the reason of my anemia . So , my learning is always talk to your doctor and redo the test . Lab tests came back negative as well. Do not freak out right away .

Great product! Easier than Cologuard and less messy. Plus nobody calls you, emails you, and texts you, 3 times a day urging you to return the test like the other brand! Cologuard wouldn't stop urging me to return their test even after I asked them to stop and so I didn't use it and won't. It's worse than car warranty ads!My doctor was very happy I used it and had no problem accepting the results. I'm good for another year and there are TWO tests in the box.

I had originally held off on the colonoscopy rec from my gastro because I thought I was too young and didn't have visible blood in my stool. The prep seemed like way too much. However, I did have significant weight loss and significant intermittent abdominal pressure in the same spot every day, so I decided to give this a try and see if it signaled anything. Sure enough, the first test was positive. Immediately cancer popped back into mind, and I called to schedule the colonoscopy ASAP. Because I was on the list, I was able to get in there within a week. A few days before, I took the second test in this box, and it was negative. At this point, I committed to the test so I went through with it (no sedation, btw. no sweat).I was told I had a pristine colon, and that I had a few non-bleeding hemorrhoids. (visibly, at time of test). So does this test work? Seems so. Will it give you any answers, positive or negative? No. Do I recommend you take it? Well, let me ask you. Would a negative give you peace of mind, or would a potential false positive throw you into an anxiety ridden death spiral into worse case scenario?......I guess if you're at risk: Age 45+, family history, history of polyps, then yeah. This test could help start a very important conversation. But if you're symptomatic, just go to your doctor and have them do the real thing.Good luck and good health to whoever is reading this!

I researched the different FIT tests available before purchasing this particular test. My decision to buy this one came down to independent reviews and the fact that the FDA approved it. I have been having "issues" that prompted me to look for a test like this one. I wanted to confirm if my worries were valid and not paranoia. I also didn't want to put off seeing my doc if there was a real reason to go now. Going through unnecessary tests is not my favorite. After receiving the test, I read through the directions. They were very straightforward and simple to understand. The first test was positive. I used the second test the next day - it was also positive. Needless to say, I will be calling my doctor first thing on Monday.
