This stuff works great! Cleared up my Phosphates within a 2 week period of putting half a bottle in each week.

So let me start out by saying that while there is awesome advice in some online forums, despite some who swear that phosphate levels don’t matter, I’m here to tell you after a very long, arduous and expensive battle with algae: Yes, DO need to pay attention to Phosphate levels. After mostly ignoring the levels for a few years based on advice of online forums that have other excellent advice and guidance, we had some crazy looking stains we never saw before this year and major trouble maintaining any level of chlorine which was of course a recipe for disaster. After trying everything else, including the brand the pool store sells at a much higher price which actually did nothing but cloud the pool (phosphates still crazy high after it), I found this stuff and finally we are clear of issues. Yes it will cloud up your water and yes it’s scary to see that (but it means it’s working) and yes, can take 48 hours ish (depending on how high your levels are, ours were 3800+) and yes you absolutely should go the extra mile to break down your filter and clean it out (for DE, or replace the cartridge) since all the yuck gets stuck and can get sent back into the pool, but yes, IT IS WORTH IT to have a clean, clear, safe pool to swim in. We tried everything else and until we used this (a couple of times) in conjunction with dumping in a huge amount of shock to sanitize and help kill the funk and breaking down the filter to clean it, the problem kept returning. The product the pool store recommended did nothing but I am now a convert and will always have this stuff on hand and will be using weekly maintenance doses to keep phosphates away (or very low). It is worth every cent.

For over a year, I had issues with my pool where I could pour 4 full jugs of chlorine in and the chlorine would read zero within 8 hours. Nothing I could do would solve it and as a result, water was always cloudy and greenish. CA, pH, and all other parameters were correct: had it tested many times at different pool supply stores. Dumped in 10x the chlorine I should, and poof. Gone. Added just a little of this and I got cloudy residue out of my filter for 2 months, pressure washing it twice a week. After about a month, chlorine stopped disappearing and now, I can put one tablet in my floater and I get 3 PPM chlorine for 2 weeks before I need another tab. Haven't needed to retreat for phosphates in almost a year: still good. Don't listen to the online forums, blogs, and/or pool stores that tell you that you don't need to worry about phosphates. YOU DO!

Not sure why however the product didn’t work well. I called the number on the bottle. A woman picked up on the second ring. No phone prompts. She was an american and knew their products well. After I explained the product didn’t work, she asked me to explain in detail my usage and also which testing I was doing for the phosphates. I was using a test kit by Natural Chemistry, which they also own and it works well. After she validated that both times I performed the procedure correctly. Basically I backwashed the filter, added proper amount of product to pool, then ran my filter for 2 days. What was odd is you could see the product chilating the sulfate and clouding the water. Then after my filter cleared the pool water the filter pressure increased because the chilated particals were obviously being filtered and blocking flow. I backwashed partially both times about 24 hours in.Regardless of why this didn’t actually remove my phosphate. The women on the phone was great and after discussing she asked if it was ok to ship me a different product that worked better on pools with I had around 900 ppm of phosphate. They sent me their Natural Chemistry phos-free 3 liter bottle. It came in about 4 days. I used 1/2 a bottle as directed for my amount of phosphate and pool size. It worked perfectly and brought the phosphate down to under 200 ppm.I have a ~35K gallon in ground pool.

We have to use this every year when adding water or even topping off our above ground pool because our city water has the max phosphates- I have a phosphate test kit (same kind the pool stores use) and was having a major problem keeping the chlorine level up in the pool before someone finally suggested testing for phosphates- we tested our pool and our city water both tests were off the charts. My water was clear but not holding chlorine. This stuff works like a champ- Yes it does cloud up your water but depending on how much you add that will in most cases determine how long- 24 hours if you have a minimal amount of phosphates- but if you are adding alot of water- or opening your pool it will take 48 hours- and depending on how much water you may need another dose- Best product ever!! and invest in the phosphate test kit. It will save you alot of money on shock as well- Pool companies normally don't treat for phosphates unless you ask or have run the gamut of fixing the problem with holding chlorine, or getting rid of algae.
