This desk is awesome; it is sturdy and I love the levels and angles that the top can adjust to; this make it easy to shift between projects and not have to look for a different space to accommodate the project.

If this had been a little easier to assemble, it would have 5 stars! That being said, this is a very NICE drafting/arts & craft table! I ordered another brand that looks like this model. It was a terrible desk and was a extremely cheap manufactured desk! It was sold under the name Zeny.https://smile.amazon.com/ZENY-Drafting-Tabletop-Crafting-Architect/dp/B074R9VZ1M/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?ie=UTF8&aaxitk=E8xum3xLynrxGI-QUm-Q8A&hsa_cr_id=5458264990301&pd_rd_plhdr=t&pd_rd_r=2bc1b415-0d60-40de-9c10-4130925f7498&pd_rd_w=H6stu&pd_rd_wg=i8gqm&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_mcd_asin_2_imgI had to get a refund on it in less than two weeks after putting it together. It only had one incline arm and it was so flimsy that the first time it was raised, it collapsed and ripped out of the table top. Now, this desk that I am reviewing right now is NOT like that other one at all! It has two very sturdy adjustment arms for lifting the table top up at an incline. Both of the table tops (main and side one) have a nice textured coating on them and are a flat/matte finish. They almost feel like they have a rubber texture which gives a good grip to what is on the table top. I make Paracord projects and I also do a lot of paintings on canvas. I needsomething I could do both at. This desk allows me to do all of my projects. This is solidly built. It has a Metal (aluminum) body and parts. The table tops are more than likely hard pressed particleboard coated with a rubbery laminate. The adjustable arms are pretty sturdy and they are easily adjustable. To raise, just lift up from the top of the table a d adjust to your desired incline. When you want to lower it, you have to completely raise it and the. Lower to the position you want.My only complaint about this desk/table is the difficulty in putting it together. Why? Because some of the predrilled holes are either not in the right place or they are off just enough that if there are not two people putting it together, it's not going to get put together! The angled pieces on the bottom corners of the table top that are used with the adjustment arms were bent. After taking a hammer and lightly tapping on them, we were able to get them into the correct position to correctly assemble the raising and lowering arms.On the main body of the desk, the holes to assemble the box holding the drawers are misaligned. If you place the box on the bottom hole first, (misaligned one) and then proceed to put the box together, you can slightly bend the box arms just enough to assemble it completely. Again, it takes two people to accomplish this as one person has to hold the pieces together very tightly to get the long bolts to go completely through the holes. We also had to use a hammer to knock the last bolt through its hole to attach the top box's iron bar. Doing this caused the side table top holes to be misaligned on one corner. After some finagling, we were able to get the final bolt in to attach the side table top. (Don't you just love proper building terms like finagling? lol )All in all, this is a nice desk/drafting table. I will warn you that you should not tighten everything down as you go. If you tighten everything down completely as you go, you are going to make assembling this desk a lot harder than it already is. Wait until you have gotten everything put together and then completely tighten everything down. This will save you a lot of time and quite possible prevent any new curse words being invented :) My husband created 3 new words! I got a pretty good laugh about them! Now, if you have to assemble this by yourself, if you do not already own any, you should invest in a good pair of channel locks. Trust me... you WILL need them! You will also need a hammer and a phillip's head screw driver and an Allen wrench which was included with the various screws, nuts and bolts. I also had to use separate nuts and a couple of bolts since the packaging containing all of the parts was damaged and one of the self tightening nuts and 2 bolts were missing. The box that the desk was shipped in had several holes in it and some of them had been taped over. Not sure if this was from the shipping company (UPS) or if the people shipping it taped them up... regardless, one of the nuts and two bolts were missing when the desk arrived. Thankfully, I keep extra nuts and bolts from older projects or products when they are thrown out in case of things like this. Luckily, I had the right size nuts and bolts to finish putting the desk together. One corner of the desk was chipped. A little black paint covered it up.There is also a stool that comes with the desk. That thing had two holes that were not in the right place. We had to drill new holes to be able to put it together. Needless to say, it will not be used by human buttocks. I am going to be repurposing it to be used as a cat perch... I think I will add some scratching posts to it... lol....I do believe this desk will last quite a long time. It's got a few quirks but I do like it.

This thing is a PAIN to put together!! But it is worth it! It is sturdy and beautiful and my child loves it! There was an issue with the very last bracket on the main desk part. It was flawed so I couldn't put the bolt through it. We put the allen wrench in it to hold it on and I contacted the company. They were very kind and sent me out a bag of replacement parts quickly! I am very satisfied with this. *BUYER BEWARE* Because of the way the legs stick out in the front, you have to be careful because this thing is a TOE WRECKER!! My kid forgot about those legs and ran into it and now has no toe nail on her big toe!!

Exactly as shown and very sturdy. Definitely worth the money. The setup instructions aren't the best but it was pretty easy to set up. Would definitely recommend for any artist.

Upon first impressions this desk is everything I thought it would be. From some reviews, I was a bit apprehensive the assembly would be difficult but it really was not difficult if you FOLLOW the instructions. It took me hours but I’m slow with things like that; with an average person I can’t see this being more than a 2 hour process. One thing to mention is the pencil ledge did not look like it’s picture in the instructions. It was also the only part of the assembly that I had to measure to center it to the main board because there were no drill holes for the screws. Another thing that was sort of a let down was the fact that there was one small “lump” on the main desk surface that I can see potentially being a problem with drawing straight lines and such. That is more of a point that no one can really help because it is more of a manufacturing error. One thing that I originally did not think I’d like, but ended up being surprised by was the drawers. I was afraid that the material would be cheap and the drawers wold be flimsy. I found them to not have those issues upon first impression. The bottom of the drawer seems durable enough to hold heavier items like glue or paints. Maybe over time the drawers could lose their rigidity, but for now they seem durable. The desk seems stable and has a very sharp look. Excellent purchase.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 13 yr old daughter who can spend hours drawing. It took her and I, with an assist from Mom, about 3 hours to assemble the desk. As other reviewers have noted the instructions are short on words and long on illustration. All the parts and screws and bolts are numbered so if you follow the instructions carefully you should have no problem assembling the item and I am not a handy man by any means. We got assembled without any major hiccups. We did not have any damaged or missing parts. Some people complained about holes in the brackets not matching the pre-drilled holes. We thought we had run into the same issue so we made additional holes which led to the desk top not fitting correctly. Fortunately my wife found our error and fixed it and we continued on with no problems. We had wrongly read the directions for that step. So if you think holes don't match up I advise to read the directions more carefully before making unnecessary holes. I also see some complaints about the cloth drawers. We found them sufficiently sturdy to hold notebooks and drawing supplies without any problems. In the end we have a sturdy, nice looking drawing desk with ample storage space and a nice stool. My daughter is very happy with the desk. We highly recommend the product and would buy this product again.
