It was a gift for my son, who scuba dives, all over the world for enjoyment. He loved the craftsmanship, value, how light it is, yet very sturdy, for getting another diver's attention while underwater. A must have for anyone who scuba dives or snorkeling. Definitely a 5* product.

IF you are looking for a noise maker that will stick to your D ring and is sturdily made then this Scubapro Shaker is one that you may want to consider. The magnet works perfectly and the clip is solid and well designed to clip on and stay on to your BCD. However, the noise that the shaker makes, especially underwater, seems much more muted than the previous shakers that I have owned.It works well but the noise seems light and distant and I am unsure whether those around me actually hear it. Now I do wear earplugs to help equalize pressure, but still, the ones I used in the past were much more distinct in their noise-making ability.And at 50 bucks, I think I can be critical of the product. The only reason, I did not send it back and get a knock-off brand, was the sturdiness of the design. I think even at $30.00 that it would be the limits of the price point I would be willing to pay in the future.

Even though I haven't gotten to use this in water yet, I could tell right out of the package that this noise maker was very high quality and durable. The spring in the clip is very firm. The string connected to the cap is nice and stretchy, it is also double knotted on both ends so that the cap is unlikely to ever get lost. The cap is a bendable sort of plastic so it won't crack and break. Just overall, if you have $40 and you want a convenient noise maker that is quiet when you aren't using it, this is a great choice.

As Pro diver, I've tried various Magnetic shakers: some are too big, clumsy, rattle ALL the time etc; NONE of these issues with this ScubaPro shaker. It is discreetly sized, but easy enough to grab (even with a glove on) and fits in the hand fine.Substantially made, with a good solid CLIP at one end (for BCD clipping etc) and a retained plastic cap at the other; this is attached by durable para cord, and this cap STOPS it rattling when the cap is on. This WORKS, and works very well.It is more than Loud enough under water for attracting (presumably) Urgent attention..Overall this is Very well made, worth the extra, and built to last.Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND. : Forget the rest !

It’s very loud and costs way less than a squaker. Uses no air. Less fail points on your air system (I’ve had to end dives because of leaking signal devices). It’s brass construction means it sounds bright like a bell and does not corrode.

Only four stars because of the price. This works really well underwater and literally saves me so much time trying to get my dive buddy's attention. We always enjoy pointing cool stuff out to each other, but without a noisemaker... it's not always easy. I like that the cap is magnetic, which keeps the shaker from making noise when it's not in use. Great idea and super easy to use. I probably won't dive without it!
