Product Description

Scuba Weight Belt

Why You Need A Diving Weight Belt?

  • Weight systems are essential in scuba diving. They give you a much easier descent and let you make a fast, easy ascent whenever you need to.
  • Pocket weight belts are high quality nylon belts with pockets along their length. You can add lead blocks, or neoprene lead shot pouches to these pockets. Pocket scuba belts make adding or subtracting weights easier as you change your buoyancy.
  • Also, the weights you put on these belts won’t dig into your sides as much. This characteristic makes them a more comfortable alternative to the lead block belt.

Good quality belt. Good length of pockets to put the weights in buckle is good and strong and the most important thing The belt is a good length.

I like the concept but when I actually used it skin diving with 10 lbs of weight, the nylon belt would spin around my waist freely. Then, while attempting to straighten it out, the metal clasp would become unbuckled very easily, almost causing me to drop the entire belt off my waist! A rubber belt would eliminate these issues.

Fill only the pockets you need with ZipLock bags of sand or your lead/steel weights and remove the rest to achieve slightly positive buoyancy in any situation.

Purchased for a week of diving in the keys. Weight bags started to come apart on the 3rd day. One fell off the belt and the others are all split and not usable after the week. Belt is ok but the pouches are junk.

Only thing I think it should add is a few more clips to keep pockets in place. Only comes with 1 for 4 pockets.

I bought this and planned to use it for my lobstering trip to the keys, but I got injured the day of the trip and couldn't get my injury wet for the entire trip. However, someone else used it and it worked great for them. I can't recall if he said the buckle was a PITA or not, but i seem to recall him possibly saying that, so I gave 4 stars. Next time I talk to him, I'll find out and edit review accordingly. Now, I bought just this belt, and no weights, because I came to find the cost of dive weights and lead weights in general is ridiculous. What ended up happening was I found two women's dumbbells in a pawn shop. The dumbbells each had 6 small one pound weights on them (3 on each side). I bought the dumbbells set for $18 total. They worked out perfectly and provided 12lbs of total weight (in one lb increments) for $18, and the weights fit in the pouches just fine. Very satisfied with the dumbbells purchase and the decision yo use them as weights. My buddy that used the belt for his first time free diving, told me it worked perfectly and was very much needed, just like I told him it was.
