The brush that originally came with our new vacuum was some polyester blend that was just awful. This brush is much more effective and durable.

Learned about this from a cleaning column. The original attachment that comes with vacuum cleaners are made with synthetic fibers, so doesn't last long and tend to be harsh on the surfaces you're cleaning. This one is made with horsehair, so it is very flexible and gentle for dusting, which is why I bought it. I highly recommend this product.

Didn’t have this piece for my vacuum, but this piece has been a life saver! Completely changed my dusting game! Picks up everything super well attached to my vacuum. Helps pick up all the dust in small and uneven places that I cannot get to easily with a cloth or the other vacuum tools. Great price as well, and so far it’s held up well, no missing hairs etc.

The brush has much softer/flexible bristles than standard brushes, and works well for vacuuming sensitive objects. Others have criticized the bristles for being TOO soft and flexible, resulting in it getting sucked down onto the object being vacuumed, and having the plastic rim of the brush hit the object and possibly damage it. That's kind of a necessary consequence of the soft/flexible bristles, so the way you handle this is to decrease the suction power on the vacuum; depending on brand/type this means either allowing air in from a side vent on your wand (pretty common), or turning down the suction power of the vacuum. If you do this, then with only a moderate amount of care the brush won't get sucked down, and you'll get very nice cleaning action.

Mediocre in every way. Bristles not stiff or thick enough. Inner ring protrudes further than outer and brush constantly sucks down to surface unless reducing suction so much it doesn't clean effectively. Bristles seem weak and easily bend leaving dust. Doesn't come close to cleaning like a worn out Miele dust brush. Also doesn't fit Miele w/o adapter. Wish I hadn't bought. Did so due to professional cleaner recommendation.

Top quality 1 1/4" vacuum brushes meant for indoor use have soft vinyl housings and generous horsehair bristles. Generally, people buy them for use on indoor floors and furniture where there is concern that the brush head might scratch the surface. Shopvac-type brushes have stiff poly bristles. These are generally used in rougher situations where you aren't concerned with scratches. You need to decide which type you need before buying this product. These brushes have a flimsy plastic housing and about half the soft, horsehair-like bristles of quality brushes. For those who complain about the brush hairs being sucked into the the housing, this head prevents that by limiting the number of bristles, the length of bristles and by the use of a plastic retainer ring inside of the ring of bristles which prevents them being sucked in. However, if you are not careful, the plastic ring could inadvertently scratch a nice furniture surface. All that being said, the 2-pack was the best product for a decent price I could find.

I deliberated over this brush after reading all of the reviews and finally bought it, I am using it on a Shark Duo Clean but did need to buy another adaptor. I purchased that also from Amazon a generic vacuum cleaner hose adaptor that was OD 1 1/2 on one end and 1 1/4 on the other end and it works great. It is soft yet sturdy enough so that it didn't seem to "collapse" like some of the other reviews mentioned. It did shed a couple of hairs but that was all, I am more than happy with this brush as had one similar that I had used in the past with another vacuum. Buy it and I don't think you will be disappointed.
