I had about a three inch hole in my garage door screen from a dog paw. I bought a roll of screen like this, but it was silver and stuck out like a sore thumb. Then I thought, I wonder if this comes in black. It did, and it's perfect, easy to use and looks good.

Got about a 3 inch tear in our screen door to the porch. It looked bad and let the flies in. Hated the idea of replacing the entire because they rarely look as nice as the original. This was a Great Fix!!! It was simple to do. It took less than 3 minutes and cost under $10 for a 10ft x 4” role which will last a last time. See the before and after photos. Comes in black or silver. It is made of fiberglass screen material so it blends well and breathes like regular screen. It has adhesive on one side and sticks right on. We cut two squares of same size and put on both sides of the screen for added strength. We rate “A++”.

Didn’t realize it has 3 strips of sticky stuff to hold it in place. Sometimes one of the strips wouldn’t stay in place. First one I placed only has 2 as 3rd didn’t unpeeled with it. Not a problem as it was the center strip. Just need to watch it. They did stay stuck in place. They do show if course! Needs some instructions or warning about the sticky stuff! Worked good where edge of screen separated from frame. Side strip of sticky was on frame!

The Good: 1) how Wide this is 2) not hard to install 3) it sticks to metal, screen, ok. The bad: out of 15 ft, I only got 10 ft because - the adhesive peeled away from the screen onto the throw-away plastic protector as I peeled off the protector film. It did the job, wide enough - and I put it on both sides of the screen since I got two-inch holes to cover. It Looks ok, will see how it functions in weather and other time. If starts to fall off will spray with clear project glue. (this is way better than the patch kits feeding the wire between screen.)

UPDATE - 2 weeks laterSo I've had the adhesive mesh tape on for about 2 weeks now and the parts on the screen are fine and still stuck together. However, for the portions where I had to put the adhesive on the frame of the screen, it is not sticking down. I've had to tamp it down every day. The adhesive tape stays on the frame, but the mesh material is lifting up and away from the adhesive tape. And because I am folding a 90 degree angle along the edge of the frame to the screen, my guess is the mesh does not have enough surface area to grab onto the adhesive. Also the mesh material is quite stiff compared to the tape. An even better product would be to make the mesh material softer and more pliable so it stays stuck to the adhesive tape. Overall, still a good product and I would recommend.I purchased again and this time price went up $1 each roll and the color has changed from black to silver/grey.******I like the fact the mesh is vented allowing air to pass through. My window screens were pretty slashed up by contractors installing new house siding (they promised to fix my torn up screen but didn't). I'm glad I found this tape. It was easy to use but I ran out, so I'll need to buy a second roll to finish the job. The glue on the tape has great adhesion; just to make sure I taped both sides of my mesh as the holes were big. For areas where the tape did not align perfectly taped together when I doubled up, I hope it sticks to the screen over time.

First of all, this is a TAPE, not sticky screen. It's got 3 lines of roughly 1/2" double sided tape on the back of strips of screen material, with 2 roughly 1/2" gaps of actual screening. After replacing our huge screen panels 2x in 1 year from my cat tearing at it, we decided to reinforce the screen where it frequently tore, at the bottom seam, instead of replacing this time.We tried duct tape first, and it did not stick to the screen, only the aluminum edges, and of course, looked terrible. I realized the reason why it didn't stick... the screen wasn't clean. So before trying this tape, I scrubbed and scrubbed the screen first on both sides. This removed a lot of green invisible algae, and after drying, the tape stuck really well to the screen too.Unrolling this and getting it even is very tricky. I taped a full line to protect the seam area on the outside, and then the inside also, to reinforce the part that tears out. I did the outside first, and it did not come out even, but got the inside almost flawless, with a simple trick. I folded the tape, and creased it, then rolled up the section I needed around my finger, to reinforce the crease. This made it much easier to line up along the bottom of the screen, and peel the cellophane backing off as I went, 6" sections at a time. I wish I had done the inside first, as it would have been much easier to line up the outside to it, but alas, I didn't, so the outside seam line is uneven. It is not invisible, but very unnoticeable if you are doing the seam at the bottom of the screen. I had a small tear in the middle of the screen also, which was easily patched, but definitely visible. This is not a replacement for a new screen. What it does is keeps the bugs out til you do replace the entire screen, and so far, it's sticking just fine because I cleaned the screen first. NOTHING is going to stick to the screen if you do not. It may not look dirty, mine didn't, but when you go to clean it off, you realize just how much invisible algae and dust was on it, which of course tape will stick to, instead of the screening itself. If it falls off, or the tape doesn't hold, I will update the review, but so far so good!
