High quality. The wood case is strong and impeccable. The compass actually works and is very well made. Cannot beat the value for the money. I have purchased a couple of these as gifts for the Scouts in my family. Highly recommend!!!

If you're going for that mystical look but don't actual intend on using it, then this is the one for you. The box was nice if they had cut out the batting to the correct size. Mine was too small and off centered. The compass is nice but kind of heavy to say the least. Maybe tighten your belt if this is the kind of gear you will be using, you don't want your pants to fall down because of a heavy load when you're out in the field. I gave it three stars for the nostalgic look & it does actually work but not the most accurate compared to my other compasses.
