This item is nice with one exception- the upper locking tabs are way too small and break off very easily. If they were the size of the lower tabs, this would be a 5 star item.

Fit perfectly and the customer service line is helpful when ordering, so I gave them 4 stars. But they haven't thought out the installation properly, which means you have to do a lot of trial and error, and really I would otherwise have given them a 3 star rating. It is held to the dash trim by very flimsy tabs, especially at the bottom, and these will break after 2-3 removal and installation cycles. What do I mean? The Ford vehicles this kit fits use a bracket at the back of the radio to support the weight of the radio. But the height the rear bracket mounts on the new radio will be higher than on the old radio, because the Scosche frame raises the new radio higher in the dash. The radio with the rear bracket fastened to it won't fit through the new frame opening. It also won't fit through the metal mounting sleeve. It would if that small cubby in the Scosche frame were removal, but it isn't. So you have to put the radio into the metal mounting sleeve which comes with the radio, put the radio and sleeve through the Scosche frame, attach the rear bracket (which will be too big and have to be cut down in one of the many fittings/ removals) and do multiple trial fittings to get the rear bracket adjusted correctly so the radio sits square in the Scosche frame. Since the radio is in the sleeve, you can't bend the tabs in the metal mounting sleeve to secure the sleeve in the Scosche frame. You could bend the tabs first like I did initially. But then if you have to take everything out (which for the reasons I mentioned you will), there is no access to the tabs of the Scosche frame. Then you have to try and install this big conglomeration of slipping parts, by fitting the rear bracket over the runner (which you can't see from the front because the cubby blocks the view), sliding it into the very close tolerance space, and click everything into place. You wind up with a Scosche frame where a bunch of these fragile tabs have broken off during the trial and error process, a couple of hours less of life, and quite frustrated. All this could be avoided if Scosche made the small cubby removal, and it clicked into place as the last step of the installation.

Very flimsy and you can't even put a cd in the opening. Got burnt again by a Chinese product. They should have large lettering at the top of the item page stating where it was made.

I'll have to admit that I had some qualms about locating a dash kit specific for the 2008 ford crown Victoria. There is no specific dash kit for that car because many manufacturers including Scosche give a vague "fits ford vehicles from 1998 and up" and many of the kits vary greatly on appearance even though they supposedly fit the same cars. I took a gamble on this specific kit and I have to say it's really great. The abs plastic matches perfectly with the rest of the car (p71 cop car) and I was worried since it is a cop car if it would vary any on dimensions. Fits perfect and I like the little tray on the bottom that allows for room like the remote control of the single din and also where I mounted the blue tooth mic (bottom left corner). Works great and couldn't be happier. At $13 it beats the one I almost bought at my local retailer that starts with a B. Lucked out on this one! Great buy 10/10, would recommend.
