Said there was a guaranteed fit, it wasn’t.

I have no problems with the product itself, but just know when you buy that it is a "universal" product so it may not work.

So reviews on here are mixed about fitting 6.5". I can say that mine is relatively close but there is just no way its fitting. I have two sets of 6.5 speakers out right now and neither fit. I have some Phoenix Golds and some cheaper Audiobahns. Both have pretty beefy metal baskets and id say there is still a good 1/2 of travel i would need to make these work. Some say they have had luck with them on 6.5 but for anything i have its not even close. This isn't Amazon's fault, if you go to the scosche website it says "convertible fit" for both 5.25 and 6.5. I have a set of old (1999) infinity 5.25s as well, and those do fit in here no problem. While there may be some smaller basket 6.5s out there, nothing ive had would fit these. There are also no cut marks or notches where i could break off a piece and make it fit. I think i might dremel it a bit for my needs, but if you are looking for 6.5 adapters, look elsewhere. If you are looking for 5.25, you're in business.

I just recently bought these speaker adapters for the purpose of using them in the rear of my 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. I was a little worried that they wouldn't fit, because these aren't listed anywhere as being compatible with my SUV, and also another reviewer commented that these only work for 5.25" speakers. I am more than happy to say that the latter is false. I don't know where that guy's head was, but these definitely are made for 6.5's as well. You just line up the holes/slots, and then use a drill to drive the screws through to secure the speakers. Just make sure you don't over-drill the screws, or you'll wear away the grooves you made. These also increased the amount of bass coming from the rear, so I guess they act as spacers, too (I had previously ghetto-rigged my aftermarket speakers, but it was slightly dysfunctional). They do seem sturdy, so we'll see how they hold up over time, although I highly doubt this product "cleans grease, stains & dirt".***UPdAtE***Ok, so a little more info about these...IF you do end up overdrilling the screws, you have a couple options: 1 - Use a different bolt pattern (like going from using a square-aligned 4 screw pattern to a triangular 3 screw pattern). 2 - Use bigger screws. And 3 - If you're "screwed" and can't utilize the first two options, well...buy new ones and start from scratch. At least (hopefully) you'll know what you're doing the 2nd time around. Due to me switching from Pioneers to higher-end Pioneers to Sonys, the brackets became less and less flexible (options-wise) and the screws will hardly stay in nice and tight anymore. And at this time, no Amazon-fulfilled seller is selling these brackets (they JUST went out of stock!), I guess I've gotta go with the SAC-656 adapters. Basically, these will not hold through multiple uses.***UPdAtE #2***Okay, so, just to be clear, I guess the whole deal with whether 6.5" speakers fit depends on the manufacturer of your speakers. Most 6.5" speakers will fit just fine, but the so-called "oversized 6.5" speaker will not. Some speaker manufacturers call an oversized 6.5 a 6.75" speaker, and a few manufacturers refer to most 6.5" speakers as 6" speakers.Brands that have a 6.5" speaker that WILL fit include, but aren't limited to, Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood, Pyle, Lanzar, Legacy, Pyramid, Boss, SSL, Planet Audio, JVC, Powerbass, & Clarion.Brands that have 6.5s that WON'T fit include, but aren't limited to, JBL, Infinity, & JL Audio, Rockford Fosgate, & Polk. Note that some of these brands have a so-called 6.5er that WILL fit -- usually these ones are their lower-end models. These manufacturers should carry a 6-inch version that should fit fine. Why we can't all get along and settle on one nomination for any particular size is beyond me. This extends beyond speakers, obviously (like how my headlight can be called an H4, HB2, or 9003, despite there being ZERO difference), but it certainly makes things a lot more difficult and frustrating.Bottom Line: Do as much research as you can before buying!!

I used these in my mitsubishi eclipse, to fit some speakers that I picked up for a good price, despite not fitting. With little modification, I used these adapters in my vehicle and everything works great and sounds amazing.
