High quality, 100% sulphite paper is standard weight and accepts dry media in addition to wet media including tempera, watercolor and brushed-applied ink. Heavy weight paper has exceptional body and strength, has perfect texture for all dry media renderings, and erases well. The brilliant white stock enhances colored pencil, heavy black pencil and charcoal drawings.

This paper is thick and white, but not too thick to fold, and not bright white. It's not smooth like printer paper, it grips the medium you use. It's great for crayon, pencil, ink, chalk, markers, and even holds up decently to water colors. We use it for everything and when we finally ran out, I hustled back to purchase it again.

I was using copy paper for drawings and tearing out sketchbook paper. This paper has saved me from from doing both! Great tooth, little to no bleedthrough (unless using alcohol markers). It has a nice weight to it and all my finished pieces look and feel great on this paper. Highly reccomend.

I use this to make leatherbound journals, it's great paper, especially considering the price. It's very nice for sketching and pen work.

I should just start by saying that the amount of paper you get for the price is bonkers. Sax makes different weighted paper but I haven’t tried anything else because I was satisfied with this product and have yet to go through even half of it.One side is textured and the other is smooth. I bought this for sketching ideas, laying out and storyboarding comic/manga panels, and practicing calligraphy. For my uses, it was more than fine. But I should note that for final work and manuscripts, I use purpose-made paper for comics and markers by Deleter and XPRESS-IT.This paper takes pencils on either side well, as well as liners and brush pens with both pigment and water-based inks. Since I just use it for sketching, I rarely waste Copic ink on it. But when I do decide to lay down color for final references or for meshed out ideas, it handles it quite well for the weight. Don’t expect for it to handle globs of water-based inks or paints, or layers and layers of alcohol strokes for blending, but for the limited color I use it is more than adequate. If you’re thinking about getting this for a child to produce work on, I think it’d work out fine. The price works and the quality is there to showcase talent. If my work didn’t require specific paper and it was strictly pencil or inking, I can’t say I’d ever move up from this.Anyway, I hope it works out for you! And if it doesn’t, pass it out to your friends in packs of 50 or 100 (depending on your social skills) and kiss that day’s pocket change goodbye.

I was looking for practice paper for my daughter drawing. She is really productive. And she really does not like the paper book in 80lb or 100lb which seems bounds her thought. She used to use print paper in 20 lb for scratching at home. But it is a little transparent and not that bright. Then I found maybe the 24 lb print paper could work. It is better. But with the project I want to store, the paper is too soft. When I see this paper ream, it is in really good deal and the paper is great for practice and storage. I received it today. My daughter loves it. And I love the deal and texture too.

$12.42 for 500 pages. $0.025 cents per page. Freaking. Amazing. This paper is thick enough to have some real substance to it. I use them to create animation flip cards, as well as for color pencil drawings. Really, a great deal. Stop using printer paper. Get this. It has a textured side and a smooth side so whatever you're into, you can use this to draw. Also it's almost like a challenge. I feel like once I get through all 500 sheets I will be a substantially better artist.I should add though, this paper is still too thin for watercolor. It does okay with dry on dry, but if you add too much moister (or paint over something twice), expect this product to warp significantly.

I was a professional artist for over 30 years and when I met a friend's daughter, an amazingly talented young lady of 8 with a remarkable gift, I couldn't help but feel a deep need to encourage that talent. I remember when I was much younger, there was nothing like a room full of freshly stretched canvases to get my creative juices flowing! Good materials are essential to creating your best work. When I found this paper on Amazon, 500 sheet of fine artist's paper, I had to buy it for her. She was so thrilled and the next morning her mother sent me a wonderful thank you email with the first results on the new paper. As I said, having good materials at your disposal is like an aphrodisiac you can't resist just diving in and creating. These are 3 oil pastels my little friend did, as soon as she got home that day. She has an amazing talent for one so young. It's thrilling to behold. One important thing I would like to reiterate, is having quality supplies available to you, makes all the difference in the world. When I picked out her oil pastels, also on Amazon, I made sure they were for professional artists and didn't have the word kid or student or beginner on them, if someone truly has talent, it's important to respect that amazing gift in every way possible!
