Have only had to use it 2 times with luck wont need it much more, but they work really well, the magnifier doesnt really work for tiny ticks cause you have to get so close that you block your light. But it goes with me everywhere i go if im going out in the woods

When it first arrived, I admit it didn't look like much and I was unimpressed. But I finally had the "opportunity" to use it and worked like a charm. The tick was in a hard to reach place on my ribs. I soaked it with a little soapy water for ten seconds and then used the tool and it came right out - so easy and got the head and all. I'm ordering another to have in my car.

I've bought 4. One for my house, one for my car, one for camping and one to give away. These work great. Have used them a few times to remove ticks.

This works better on humans than dogs. It comes too close to the dog's skin and easily pinches it and pulls the hair. This causes the dog to jump and we have to start all over again in locating and removing the tick.Tweezers are better suited for pets.

Cheap and the plastic lens is crappy. Haven't ad to use it yet... thank goodness.... but I've picked up another metal one that fits on my keychain where it's more likely to be handy if/when I need it.

This might be a good product but the package I received came with no visual instructions. The package I got does include images of ticks with relative sizes and written instructions, but there should be some clear visual instructions showing how to use the pliers. A family member ordered one and got a small card with an illustration of the pliers around a tick in their package -- more than in mine but still insufficient, to my mind. For the money -- these pliers are white plastic and the markup must be HUGE, the least Sawyer can do is supply decent visual instructions. I phoned Sawyer Customer Service in Florida but Sawyer has not returned my call so it appears that the vendor doesn't care.

I haven't needed to use this yet, but it looks like it will do the trick nicely. I like that it will capture the tick in case one wants to save it to show medical peeps.

Works great provided you find tick before it burries itself. Went to the Shawnee Forest horseback riding and we knew we'd encourter some ticks, so purchased this. It helped left off the whole tick easily.

Small ticks slip right through the crack in the grip. Also difficult to manipulate the plier like tool... no spring and does not reopen easily related to friction. Magnifier is a worthless. Am going to purchase TICKED OFF to replace this. Don't let the low price influence your decision on this one. When you have a tick you don't want to be fumbling around. We had to resort back to tweezers.
