I like this for organizing. It fits a ton of strands. I can't tell you how they will be when I open the bag next holiday season, but it looks promising!

As th title says; this is an all metal roller which is not ideal for lights. You have to be very careful when spooling so you don't break the light.Cons: All metal. Spindle is too small for the average length (30') of lights so there is a lot of dead space but not enough for another string of lights.Pros: Easy to but together. The dead space "can" act as projection between the bulbs and putting it away. So the con might also be a pro.

We'd spend hours unrolling our lights only to find them broken. This storage bag holds plenty of lights, making it a great solution for attic storage. We were able to add a few stranges per metal reel to maximize the space too. Indoor (mini) and outdoor (C9). Well designed and built sturdy.

SO much better than keeping lights in a bin, much more space efficient. Easy to put together, could fit two stands on C9 bulbs on one spool; leaving me with a leftover spool that I kept collapsed in the bag for future needs. Because I didn’t use the final spool, the bag also had enough room for me to put my sandwich bag of outdoor siding clips and a gallon bag of outdoor timer plugs with remotes.Could not more highly recommend and wish I bought sooner!

I like these a lot and would but then again. I'll provide some details about why and use an image to compare to some other spools I have.The first pictures spool has a convenient winding spool handle, but it has multiple drawbacks. First, the relative outer/inner diameter create a lot of wasted space. 31% of the area is used up by that inner winding portion. This part of a Christmas light spool is honestly hard to take advantage of, so you may be fine with this (the initial part of the spool needs to be wound and wound), but I have a lot of lights and if you are in my boat, you would probably prefer to maximize your storage volume. Second: the plastic spool halves don't hold together incredibly well and I have had one of these pop apart, which is super frustrating.The second spool improves the space utilization a bit (improving from 31% unused area to 26%) but basically still doesn't hold enough lights. The design of the two halves on this spool has never fallen apart on me, so I wouldn't rule out *all* plastic spools.Finally is the metal spool from the storage bag advertised. It is really rugged (the center is a rigid plastic with and the two spool sides screw onto a rigid bolt). The usable volume of the spool is very good with only 2% of the volume being unusable.Also, I didn't photograph it, but the total volume of this is also much higher than the plastic spools. The width of this metal spool is approximately 5" vs about 2 3/4" for each of the plastic spools.I decorate the perimeter of my roof with C9 bulbs on 12" spaced socket of lampwire and I need to store 230' of lights (and 230 C9 bulbs). One of my strands is 80' (and 80 bulbs) and it really does not fit well on a single spool, but I cram it on there and have crammed it into the bag. This has damaged the bag, so I plan to order more bags and spread outy storage, but the bags are also reasonably sturdy.The only real drawback I might vote is that I wish the outer circumference of the spools were continuous, rather than the "6 pizza slice" style where only half of the outer diameter is enclosed by the metal cage. As I get to storing the end of my light strands on these spools, the lights start to "spill out" over the sections that are not caged in. Nevertheless, five stars IMO.If you need to store lots of lights and long strands, this is an excellent value for the money.If you just need to store some mini tree lights or shorter strands, them some of the smaller plastic spools ought to cut it.

Easy to assemble reels. Used primarily for garland which really helps with storage.Used one for lights but it didn't nearly hold as much as a regular light reelDefinitely would purchase again

I recently purchased two Christmas storage bags with handles, and they are perfect for organizing my holiday lights! Each bag includes 4 easy to assemble metal reels that makes storing lights a breeze. The sturdy handles make carrying the bags simple, and they keep everything neat and tangle-free. With my two bags I was able to store 19 boxes of Holiday Time Christmas lights totaling 3,400 bulbs - bulb lengths sizes 1/4”-1”. Five of those boxes were icicle lights with 1,100 1/4”bulbs . The bags didn’t have a separate pocket for to store the extra bulbs that come in the boxes so I put them into a ziplock storage bag and zipped them inside on top of the reels of lights.** Highly recommend these for hassle-free holiday storage!
