This post matches our large mailbox. Bought in 2018, hit by car 2 yrs ago, car damage, mailbox and post barely a brush mark on box, post solid and square. This year hit by very large delivery truck. Top plate of post was bent, but easily hammered back into flat. cement base was cracked in multiple places. I really expected the post to be bent, but it was not! Since I had already ordered a replacement post, I went ahead and installed the new one. Old post underground since 2018 was in perfect condition. Solid and no rust whatsoever. Excellent!

I purchased a Salsbury mailbox and after it arrived, I realized that not only was the new mailbox going to look awful on the old post, it probably wasn't even going to fit well. So purchasing this post was an easy decision. Upon arrival, it was clear that this was high quality and very sturdy. However, it seemed a bit short for my needs. I then realized that I had purchased the 48" post, not the 60" post. Honestly I thought they were all the same -they are not, so make sure you get the right length. I was able to work a solution with the 48" post though and it looks great and is solidly planted.

The base is 4x4 tubular aluminum and 4 feet long.It is very robust and heavy.The package drop requires that almost 36” of the post be buried - one deep hole !Perfect if you live in a frost heave area.I cut some of the post off, since i didn't need a 3 foot hole!I mounted their largest package drop mailbox on top. It wobbles slightly when opened & closed, because the floor of the mail box flexes. They could reinforce the floor to prevent this flexing or provide a larger backing plate.

I purchased the stand and mail box and they are both well made and finished. The locks are secure. I only wish the drop box portion for the carrier was larger to accept some packages. But the advantage is the added security and the large waterproof storage for the mail.

I love the look of the mail box, very sleek and clean looking. Key and lock works great.The only problem I had was with the mail carrierWho used outgoing mail for incoming mail.

The pedestal was easy to install.After I pulled out the old post, I cleaned out the hole, cemented this in, and attached the matching mailbox with the supplied bolts.My only advice is "measure twice" on the height, taking into account the mailbox's slot is near the middle of the box and that the road isn't at the same height as the ground. The length of the post was fine for my situation, but installations in ditches will need a longer one.
