My electric bill went up $10.00 after putting this heater in my birdbath. The water almost always felt medium warm. The birdbath developed algae within three days of cleaning it.. My feeling is the thermostat was not working correctly. Unfortunately, I missed sending it back by two days.

The size was just right for our medium sized bird bathThe temperature here has only been in the 20's a few times overnight but checking early in the morning it was nice and warm but not hotWould have liked more cord length but it was still longer then other brands and good quality build overall and a recommended buy

Does a great job keeping the birdbath deiced. Easy to clean, some birds like to stand on it, since it's sturdy and flat. Good value for the money. First winter using it, but it's been an extremely cold one so far, so it's gotten a work out and seems very durable. Heat level seems appropriate for outdoor temperatures.

I waited a while before posting my review because we had sub freezing temps in the forecast and I wanted to see how well it performed. I was not disappointed. We had nearly a week of temps that did not rise above the mid 20's. The water in the bird bath never froze. Days later a 6" snow didn't faze it at all. It stays warm but not hot. The birds love it. Best purchase ever, highly recommend.

I dug a fish pond in my yard in the fall, and realized I needed something to prevent it from freezing over in the winter. This is one of two hot rocks I have in the pond. You can't see this hot rock in the photo as it is weighted, and designed to sit on the bottom - the one you can see floating is the other one I purchased. Anyway, between the two of them my pond has not frozen, the pump & filter are still running, and my fish are all still alive!

I have not had a birdbath in the winter before. I bought this one because I liked how it looked like a rock. I would have gotten the dark gray but it was out of stock. The white is just fine. I don’t know where my birds were drinking before as I live in northern Vermont and most water sources are frozen. The birdbath is in regular use all day long. I dump the old water and refill every other day, though it could go longer. The water is warm so it evaporates fairly quickly. I have seen chickadees, titmice, nuthatches and cardinals drinking. I’m really pleased with the heater. It’s on the side of my house connected to an outdoor extension cord.

The heated rock works well. I am using it for a DIY fountain on the patio table. The birds, squirrels and some other stray animals are loving it… 😊

The item works fine to keep the water in my birdbath from freezing.but it’s hard to keep the water level up enough to cover the rock at all times.
