Product Description

Tungsten Carbide Burr SA-5

Why We Choose Tungsten Carbide Burrs?

Tungsten carbide burrs are widely used for metalwork, engineering, tool making, model engineering, jewelry making, wood carving, welding, chamfering, casting, deburring, grinding, cylinder head porting and sculpting.

Our Double Cut Carbide Burrs tend to be used on ferrous and non ferrous metals, aluminium, soft steel and also for all non-metal materials such as plastics and wood. They have more cutting edges and will remove material faster. Double cut will leave a smoother finish than single cut due to producing smaller chips. Use for medium-light stock removal, deburring, finishing and cleaning. A double cut carbide burr is the most popular cut and will see you through most applications.

This produce is heavy. Was looking for a Dremel bit. This came up with the Dremel bit and said tungsten instead of carbide like the other bit. As I occasionally grind metal, I ordered the tungsten bit without looking that this one has a shank for a drill. Stupid me. Will probably return because I'm having a hard time thinking of when I would use this, though if I had to mow my own lawn it might be good for a lawnmower blade or grinding off sharp ends of a chain link fence. Maybe doing repairs on seriously damaged knives that are beyond the help of a knife sharpener. Even then, I think I would want the small Dremel bit of they made it in tungsten.

Used it to make a faucet hole in a cast iron sink. Worked like a charm. Bought a $5 one at Lowes and it wouldn't touch. This one cut through the cast iron like it was butter.

The bit is made well but the machining leaves the bit not aggressive enough for a hard plastic.

I used the bit in a die grinder to enlarge the holes in cast barbell plates. There were 4 plates 1.1" thick and I removed about 1.5mm of metal from the circumference of each 1"dia. hole. The bit did the job very well and it is still sharp. Excellent product.
