This is a direct replacement for the motor and...blade...assembly for a Broan/NuTone fan. It fits well, uses the same connector as factory, and allows for a very quick and easy swap.Quiet, effective, it's a great way to fix an aging/wearing fan.

Fan fit the housing fine but when running is noticeably louder than the original Broan fan.

This replacement does indeed appear to move more air than the original fan it replaces (679FLT). However, it is actually louder despite what is being advertised. Replacement is pretty easy; however, getting it to "simply snap in" isn't going to work because the fan is too tall; this causes the fan to jam up against the top of the existing box preventing the fan from spinning. As another reviewer mentions, even after I smushed the fan down the motor shaft as much as it would allow, I still had to let the fan plate sit a little bit lower by adding a few screws into the existing box so that it could rest on those screws.

My old motor went out and I replaced it with this. It took longer for me to clean out all the dead bugs than to put this motor in. It was easy and would have been a lot easier if I wouldn't have put the fan blades on backwards. I'll be honest... I didn't read the instructions but all is good and works great now. Very quiet.

We purchased this fan in the hope it would be quieter than the original that was initially installed with the manufacturer housing. The ad stated about 35% quieter than the original. The noise difference is barely noticeable. Additionally, the housing had to be modified a little as the new blower wheel on the fan is wider and taller than our original.If you are purchasing the replacement due to the original not working, this might be a good buy. If you are purchasing for the same reason as we in hope it would be much quieter, I would save your money and take a pass on it.
