I got the Ryobi cutoff tool for a specific purpose. My washing machine drain pump had gone bad...dreaded error OE. I have a stacked washer/dryer in a narrow inset, and live on a ferry-served island at the end of a long narrow road. It would be expensive and very difficult to get a repair person out, pull out the machines, and de-stack them. Replacement? Last Lowe's truck was too big for our drive, and damaged a building trying to turn around.I have the wherewithal to replace the pump myself, but again, pulling the stack out and de-stacking is not something to contemplate lightly. So, identified the location of the pump, ordered the Ryobi cutoff tool, cut a hole in the bottom side of the washer, and replaced it that way. Worked perfectly! Pump came from Amazon too. This tool is fantastic! It was much smaller than I thought...like a flashlight, almost! But very powerful...sliced through the washer steel like nothing! Lots of sparks though. It will come in handy for many jobs in the future...nothing like battery operated. I have a Ryobi battery pressure tank and the vacuum cleaner, as well as the usual drill and impact driver. Plus a powerful flashlight, all using the same batteries. I'm a fan!

This thing is phenomenal for cutting steel. I like the thin wheel. I think its 0.035” thick. It wears a little quicker but with it being thinner it cuts faster since your removing less metal as you go. This thing feels like a Milwaukee or Dewalt when your using it. I use it with a battery adapter and it is amazing. If your cutting thicker metal for long periods it will kick into thermal protection and need a small break. But it comes right back to live and keeps kicking butt. This thing is perfect for metal working, salvage work, hobbies, etc. I hope Ryobi keeps coming out with tough brushless products. This thing is a Home Run!

This has become one of my go-to tools for all kinds of applications. Its light weight and small profile is very helpful. I've used it to trim small bolts to size, score and cut sections out of sheetrock, grind down protruding screw ends, cut off nails sticking out of used wood molding, etc.

So much less intense than an angle grinder and still let's you do some serious stuff. Cut rebar, I've cute tile, concrete. It's simple and works, now if you're cutting 60 rebars maybe not the tool

I like the majority of features with this tool. It cuts very good. I can maintain a straight cut easily. Variable speed trigger is nice, as well as forward and reverse. The forward/reverse comes in handy to keep sparks where you want them. The on board lighting is positioned horribly. The 'forward' light points up and away from the disc and isn't even close to helpful. I finally taped it over with electrical tape because it was shining in my eyes and I could not see what I was doing. The 'reverse' light is better but the case is directly in front of that light rendering it nearly as useless. There should be an easy way to just disable them. I can do better with a penlight and masking tape. This tool (like 99% of every tool made) is made for a right handed person. I'm left handed. This means I have to look over the body of the tool to see the cut. Try that some time. It's really annoying. I have adapted for most tools but saws and cutoff tools are always offset the wrong way for me. If I could remove the guard I could see the disc and the cut infinitely better. To their credit, and my dismay, the guard is not easily removed. The tool is a good tool made for a right handed person with badly positioned work lights. Even with my unique complaints, it's still a good cut off tool at a good price.
