Rule use to ruleBeen through way too many of these in various formats. Admittedly pushing their application. So if your application is occasional, your fluid pretty clean, then yeah they do the job. But don’t expect the design and components to be overbuilt/robust cause that Rule no longer rules their engineering. It’s a shame because the form factor is in a niche that could be really useful for a broader set of applications if it weren’t so cheaply built.

I have this pump attached to a 1/2 piece of copper with another 1/2 piece of copper w/ a 90 on it and they all use garden hose fittings for connections. I also cut off the wires close to the pump and replace them with Arctic Wire because the factory wire break off as soon as you do anything when it's cold out.I haul my heating oil in a 55 gallon drum and with this setup once the fuel starts to come out the hose i shut it off and go inside, it will siphon the drum empty, perfect when its -40

Used it one time for an hour and using it the second time the pump is burned out - must be corroded inside - motor is getting hot and drawing power but does not move anymore… Apparently no way to return it now :-(

Decent pump for shallow applications say 10 foot or less. My application was at the max of 20 foot. The issue I ran into was on a battery alone it would not pump up that high. But if I connected to a running vehicle it would, i.e. 12v battery voltage vs the 13.5-14v charging voltage. Over all it did the job I asked of it but I only used it for a short time - couple weeks. So I cannot speak to the longevity of it. However the water I was pumping had a lot of fine sand and silt in it and it did not fail. I still have it and use it occasionally for water transferring from on container to another - 5 foot or less . Keep in mind this is either on or off, there is no pressure switch.

I installed this almost 5 years ago in a 6 inch access hole in my basement floor along with a water sensor. Usually, it just sits there waiting for months at a time. But, when we get long periods of rain, I've seen it run about every 10 seconds for 24 hours at a time. This is an amazingly durable pump.
