Had some extra wire shelves, just needed the upright wall brackets to get them to work. Very good system. Easy to install and fast to recreate a closet to add more space.

This is a great rail for a storage unit. It is strong and the vinyl covering makes it attractive. My grip is Rubber Maid does not support the product. Consumer can not find the brackets or add on to make this a usable product. So, I would probably buy another brand in the future.

The FastTrack system is fantastic. I have all my lawn equipment including an edger, trimmer, blower, hedge trimmer, etc. hanging from a sheet rock wall. The system has allowed me to re-capture significant floor space in my garage. The track has holes every inch making it easy to find the studs every 16 inches. It takes minutes to install.

Bought a bunch of Rubbermaid FastTrack garage stuff for a garage re-organization project. They work very well, are very durable and look good too. If you install the cross pieces per instructions and get into several studs, you could hang a car from these. Get some uprights and the wire shelving units and you can shelve very heavy items up off the garage floor.If you have the cross pieces into a few studs, I don't think you have to worry too much about having these uprights into studs too. If the cross pieces are into a few studs they are very strong and can support a LOT of weight.

As others have pointed out, the uprights as described no longer exist. The newly (IMHO inferior) designed uprights do not have the "grippers" and do not "snap tightly to the rail". In fact, the newly designed uprights just hook over the top of the rail and are free to swing back and forth. In order to secure them, Rubbermaid advises that they be attached to the wall using the included screws and drywall anchors. In some installations, they recommend that they be screwed directly to the wall studs. Once installed, they become permanent as any other wall mounted shelving system. In essence, the top rail serves no purpose, other than to act as an expensive alignment jig. The flexibility of the FastTrack system is lost. You can obtain the same functionality and save substantial money, by purchasing ordinary dual shelf standards and brackets. I bought this shelving system in pieces to use in my cargo trailer. I wanted a system I could customize and that would be lightweight and sturdy at the same time. This has been in my trailer now for over a year and has survived bumpy NY roads and long cross country hauls. It handles the loads I put on the shelves even when I don't do it so gingerly. They even survive the shelving loads, strapped down and bouncing! These are really sturdy! I would recommend using at least one screw to secure the bottoms of the vertical hangers to keep them from shifting if you are using these in a application such as mine. I know these are not designed for my use but you wouldn't know it from the way they handle! I get compliments from other people with cargo haulers looking for something similar. Great product!

We decided to organize our garage and began by checking our options on line. We were able to find some of the parts at our local do it yourself type stores. Once we started we wanted to finish, so we checked on line at many different sites. All were far more expensive and shipping was outrageous. Amazon came to the rescue again. Shipping was free with super saver and the product was at a far better price then anywhere else we checked. Thanks Amazon. We have the most organized garage on the block. Great product.

We like these products to much, we now have an entire FastTrack system in our 3-car garage. The best feature is that you can very easily change things around (not the tracks, but all of the hanging pieces). The uprights are an expensive way to hang shelves, but they are strong and they are not permanent, so you can adjust the location of your shelving. You can't beat the convenience - the uprights themselves require no assembly or installation. You simply hang them from a FastTrack track. You will also need to buy a track, brackets, and wire shelving, though, and this can add up very quickly. The only store in our area that has a decent stock of FastTrack pieces is WalMart, but they have nowhere near the number of options as Amazon. Lowes and the Home Depot offer only a handful of the FastTrack hooks and the track. One caveat about the uprights: if your garage is unfinished (as ours is), you will need to hang the uprights on the studs, or they will not be stable. Of course, if you have sheetrocked walls, this will not be an issue. Bottom line - the uprights are a well made product that can help you organize your garage almost overnight. We did!

My first complaint is about the ambiguity of the product description. You don't know if you're ordering one, or one set of three (the number of uprights you would need to put up a shelf). I understand that the product is only referred to as singular in the description, but it's not far fetched to think it would mean one set. You need more than one to even hang something, so why sell it separate? I suspect so they can charge you 11 bucks a rail.That leads me to my second complaint, the price. At 11 dollars and change you've already spent over 33 bucks and you still haven't bought the shelves, or 16" brackets that hold the shelves, and I would guess that those are sold separately as well, at almost 7 dollars a bracket. I like the other Rubbermaid FastTrak items, but the shelving system is extremely over priced. Save some money and go a different route.Once I received my ONE rail in the mail I decided not to waste anymore money on the FastTrack shelving system.
