Our church needed a few recycling bins for cans and bottles so we could turn them in for the refunded amount the stores charge when you buy them. This lid fit perfectly on the recycle bins we purchased separately. I'm not sure why they aren't sold as a set! The openings are the perfect size for cans and bottles. Great product.

Personally, I feel the price is rather absurd, costing almost as much as the barrel itself for what is just a big hunk of shaped plastic, but it does do its job well and is of good quality. Sometimes you get what you pay for, in a good sense.

does well, especially for people who have no idea what a recycle container is for (cans & bottles). Lid is necessary to have them put in correct items.

I was unsure about the look of these cans, but now that everything is set up and functioning, we love it.Especially for smaller children, having the labels on them is super helpful. ur issue was having the recycles in small bags that would add up and clutter the floor, or have to be taken out daily, these 23 gallon cans really solve the clutter issue. For the garbage, we had the largest simple human can and it was wonderful. However, having both the garbage and recycle in the same sized cans and attached with wheels where you can just easily move them to clean under and around them is a game changer. BTW, the simple human bags size code Y, fit them perfect, so we are using those for the garbage side. I've always liked the thickness of Simple Human bags and we are not at a loss by using a different can. You do have to pull it to get it around the top of the can but that's a plus as it is nice and tight, where it will stay in place. We used the closing lid for the garbage as well to keep the potential garbage smell at bay...not sure the other would be as effective in that way, but having the flaps works GREAT for recycling!

It fits my Rubbermaid Slim Jim container. The other lids I found had slots or doors, I found this one with a handle and it does just what I need. Shipping was extremely fast and communication with the seller was excellent.

Expensive cover for your slim jim trash can. That being said it fits over the can very well when you have a trash bag in the container. Its very sturdy and should last a lifetime. I think this is a better choice than the lids that swing. I saw a lot of bad reviews for the swinging lids, which turned my decision this way. It definitely keep the smell down. I do believe that is was money well spent.

Just what we wanted to go with our slim Jim bin. Lid is obviously made to fit these but not well publicised. Nor is it sold with them as a whole bin solution. Anyway, we got it and it's perfect.

UPDATE: November 2015 I've been using this lid with the Slim Jim trash can for more than a year now. The lid is still tight fitting but I have found a secret to getting it off a bit more easily. Grab the back by the hinges and pull up and to the side then you can pull the front up and off very easily. It sounds like it's going to break but it hasn't so far! I change the bag at least once a week. Love it now that I can take it off. End of update:This is a great lid. It is very, very well made. The hinges seem to be super heavy duty. I really like that I can swing this lid all the way open and to the back of the Slim Jim trash can. Much better than a pop up lid.Now to the "...but..." this lid has a super tight grip on the can which is great for keeping the bag in place and for not falling off if the can should get knocked over for any reason but, it is hard to get off for changing the bag. Maybe there is a secret that I am unaware of, I just know that every time I try to get this lid off it is a struggle. I thought I found a trick but it didn't work for me this week.That being said, I would buy this lid again. It does a good job of keeping trash odors in and keeping the bag in place.One other thing, the measurements in the descriptions seemed confusing when compared to the measurements of the Slim Jim can, I called Rubbermaid, they assured me that this was the correct lid. The lid fits to the outer edges of the Slim Jim. It also has 2 half circles that go on the inside of the can to help keep it in place (you can see one of them in the picture.)
