Needed to change out the overflow plate and gasket as the old one was rusting and corroded and the exposed portions of the gasket were crumbling. This was the type that was initially in my tub, though since it had deteriorated, I didn't know it right away. Nearby stores only carried the beveled gaskets. I fought trying to get those to work for about three hours before finding this available to order. The beveled ones wouldn't sit right, there was always a gap no matter which way I tried it.When this one arrived, the hardest part was getting it behind the tub, but it took less than five minutes to get in and then set the way it needed to be, and now there are no gaps. Rubbed it with some silicone grease prior to install. I will be ordering this one again when it comes time to replace.

This product is awesome and easy to install. I am not a plumber however I do a lot of diy projects and replacing this gasket could cost a pretty penny in labor alone but literally takes 5 mins to replace. I love that it has the clip on so it doesn’t fall behind the tub as you’re replace it. I highly recommend this product over the one that doesn’t clip because that one can fall as you’re replacing it.

I should have taken photos! I needed this EXACT item (but couldn’t find it anywhere). I have an antique clawfoot tub coming out from the center of a wall. After 10 years bumping it around and putty all dried up, it was time to redo the seal along with updating fixtures. The standard seal just sat between a wobbly drain pipe and a moderately stable tub, fighting gravity (and forming a ‘seal’) only by the strength of the tips of the two screws that attach the overflow cover! I just knew that was never going to be water-tight, and I do overfill my tub. This product was genius! It just clips to the drain pipe on one side, and through the tub’s overflow hole on the other, forming a sturdy, seamless connection. The first side was simple to pop on, the second took just a little wrangling- but it’s on there for good now! No putty or silicone. The overflow plate even fit better once reinstalled up against the added lip.**I doubt you’d be able to get it on if your drain pipe is in a wall, or if there’s not enough wiggle room to get your hands between it and the tub.

I was unable to attached to overflow plate properly, it was a waste of money. It was thick but not easy to install.
