Used this on a mini split install. Put it ONLY on the flare, tighten to full torque, loosen and retighten and unless the flare is crappy, you will be good to go!

This fluid does exactly what it says it does, it seals the threads on refrigeration fittings. I have not had a single problem with this fluid and I've used it on several systems.

Great stuff. Had to order it because in los angeles you cannot buy it in a store unless you have an hvac license. Just needed it to install my own split unit.

This is a great product. Use only to lubricate and seal the sealing surfaces of the flare connection and the back of the flare sparingly. DO NOT LUBRICATE THE THREADS. This will make it nigh on impossible to achieve the correct torque application as spec'd in your installation manuals. I watched too many YT videos showing this by multiple people. I did it wrong. It seemed logical but I did not think it all the way through until I was not able to "properly" torque my connections. It appears that I can pump down the system and then remake my flares. I am concerned that I could have damaged the threads. So do I or don't I attempt to remake the fittings. NOT currently leaking. I will possibly post an update. Have to weigh my options.

like a lot of folks I’m a do it yourself’er installing a Mini Split. So I'm not in the habit of cutting and flaring copper. I can't chance a leak.Applied to the mating surface of the fitting, it is very controllable. Has the viscosity of glue. One thing I did discover when testing my flanges was that if you titen them down and then open them up again it helped put the finishing touch on the flan. At that point I applied the product and installed.Very happy, no leaks.

I have used Nylog on numerous mini split line set threads and have had good results. I look at it as extra insurance. I know some will be for and some against the practice of using this on HVAC. Bear in mind you are not coating the flair (male or female portion with this product. If you were to do that, well yes you can run into issues. If using it as designed, it is of benefit. This product is designed to prevent the fittings from loosening. The practice of coating threads with a sealant is used across all forms of mechanics and engineering. Why? Because things like vibration, changes in temperature, pressures etc have a cumulative effect over time. This product is designed to counter the forces of use and to ensure the line does not loosen, unless you intend on loosening it.A very good product, just use it for its designed purpose.
