The router table insert has pre-drilled holes to fit most electric trimmers and routers.

There are clear metric scales on both sides of the router plate to help you adjust the fence position quickly and efficiently.

I didn’t realize how small it was, and out of 4 routers none would fit any of screw holes

Keep this in mind: "For the price."It is a sub $30 router insert. The product itself is manufactured well. The aluminum is sturdy and the slots, cuts, and counterbores are clean and smooth. I'll give it that. The plate is designed for a small trim router. I have three... don't ask... The hole pattern on the insert lines up with the holes on the router base. No issue with alignment. There is an issue with the placement of the holes. The hole for the bit isn't centered, but neither are the threaded holes in the base, but the bit hole in the plate is set forward of the centerline for the screws. The router fits and attaches so the "front" of the router (height adjustment, height lock, spindle stop (for changing bits), and the opening in the router base, again for changing bits) is facing the rear of the base.If you are using the fence you have to either reach around the router to set the height and change bits "blind" or run around to the back of the router table to get it set up.Not the most efficient way to set up the cut...The fence works, for small hobby type projects. It locks in place with a couple butterfly nuts. That seems a little cheap. Oh, wait... this thing was under $30....The miter gauge does lock into place and slides in the track in the plate. It is tiny though. If you are routing wood using small templates, this would work well. If you want to use the fence be prepared to run to the back of the table whenever you need to change the height or bit.I will use this as an insert in my workbench. I have routed a pocket for it and pull the router/plate assembly off the shelf and swap it with the "cover the hole for the router plate" piece of aluminum. Most of the stuff I will be using it for is cutting small parts out using a template bit and a template.By not having to use the fence or miter gauge I can set the plate in "backward" so the router controls are facing the front.

I’ve never had a router table and frankly I only have an inexpensive router that my father passed on to me. The router base I have is very non-standard, but since the plate is made of aluminum it was not difficult to drill out the necessary holes to mount my router. The mounting of the fence is not precision by any stretch, but there are some graduation marks on both sides of the fence to aid in lining it up. Sadly, the measurements use white lettering on silver plate which make them somewhat difficult to read, it just takes some extra time to get both sides of the fence aligned. My first test run on some scrap lumber was not successful. I was going to route a groove down a short piece of softwood, I hand tightened the thumbscrews on both sides of the fence and as I got about halfway down the groove, the outgoing fence started to move. So much for a straight line. I got a pair of pliers and cranked the thumbscrews down tighter. The second pass on a new piece of lumber was successful and I was happy with the accuracy of the cut when I was done.It also comes with 2 black acrylic washer like inserts to place around the hole where the router bit comes through the plate. I placed the appropriate size insert into place, but as soon as I turned on my router, the vibration dislodged it and sent it flying. I added some flat double stick tape to keep it in place.Lastly, there are no instructions on where everything is supposed to go, I relied on the pictures on the product information page to determine how to assemble. If you’re working on wider pieces such as grooves such as I was, the fences can be slid together to form a single surface. Also included is a large black flexible tube that I am clueless where it goes. I assumed it was some sort of adapter for dust collection, but it does not fit into the dust collecting port on the rear of the fence. The included items list a “handle” but for the life of me, can’t figure out what it might be a handle to.Rugged it is not, but it might be an adequate setup for small hobby projects.
