This is a very nicely made zinc with a tragic (dumb) shortcoming: The copper wire is really only available at one end.My prior zinc block from an other manufacturer, had both ends of the copper wire available, and both were attached to the wire that goes up to the boat. At the end of my prior zinc's life, it had not fallen off of the wire, since the wire supported the weight of the zinc from both ends.This RotoMetals zinc is most likely going to fall off once the corrosion eats its way into the area surrounding the copper wire.Other reviewers worked around this shortcoming, by drilling a hole and attaching a line to support the weight, but one foot of copper wire coming out the other end, would solve the problem.

These zinc anodes are great. But if you'll take the time to hang it right, you won't regret it. I bore a small hole in the center of the ingot and then countersink the hole on each side, then debur it. I run dacron line through it and tie it off. Now when I hang it overboard the wire is not supporting the weight, but the dacron line is. You'll never lose it and you'll get to use ALL of it. Thanks for a good product.

There is nothing wrong with the product. I only gave 2 stars because it was shipped FedEx. Have had problem in the past and this time wasn't delivered to our address and not much help from FedEx. A neighbor down the street brought to us

So far, its seems to be working! Attached one end, via a heavy gauge wire, to the ground of my battery and the anode hangs in the water at my dock. I was going thru zinc like crazy before I purchased this unit! Installed now for about 3-4 months - still has plenty of life to it. Will buy another when needed. Ken
