The seller I got this from was excellent 5 stars and thats why I gave it 5 starts. The product however is 1 star as it is not excellent and falls short for what you need a "quiet" kick to be.1. acoustically its not quiet, a mesh head roland kick will be much quieter. A standard kick drum with real heads stuffed full of pillows to muff it like you would normally do using a acoustic trigger is just as loud. As for making things quit I would say this is not very useful. Transmission vibrations also felt higher as my wife on the floor below me when testing said the strikes sounded the same. (kd-140 bc v)2. feel is OK more spring like than a real head and I found the normal roland kick the same.3. Biggest issue I had was with the very small lip you have to fit your pedal on. I use Trick Pro-V 1 big foot double pedals and had issue with getting the pedal to fit on the less than inch deep lip. My pedal is adjustable to compensate for different size lip allowing you to get the beater at a 90 degree angle when striking. This was almost impossible with this super tiny lip. I have drum rises from gibraltar on 16" kicks that have far more space. The pedal after a few minutes of playing would fall off and move. It also led to excessive vibrations. Not a issue for me but if your looking to play quietly it was rather loud.4. I have a td-50 I used with this kick and I play fast music 300bpm type stuff. I found it had dead strikes and miss fires my mesh head didn't, even my roland acoustic bass drum trigger on a real head was more accurate. This could be due to multiple factores. I think the resonation of this head skin may have been the issue. but i mostly believe this to be the problem with my double pedals beater distance. The distance between the right and left beater made the beater go very close to the outer edge which I think caused the problem.Side notes. I assume if your using a roland pedal you won't have issues with the foot bard. I also have a axis longboard pedal and that also looked like it wouldn't fit very well on the rim lip. If your using a single pedal with this kick I imagine that it shouldn't have any issues with triggering consistency. Lastly its loud for a acoustic kit, i think your better off just muffing a normal drum with pillows and using a roland acoustic kick trigger. Or a silent rubber beater pad and triggers directly on your pedal like the trick lasers, or footblasters.
