When you are gluing together Raised panel or Flat panel doors the space balls are inserted on top & bottom rails & both side stiles of doors So a standard size door for furniture or cabinetry needs 2 space balls on all 4 sides & after it has been glued you grab the panel in the center & it should move up ,down,sideto side 1/16 on all 4 sides, so the panel should have 1/8" play for expansion & contraction,But be sure glue doesn't come out in the interior corners so the panel will be free to expand & contract.

These are great for holding a panel in a frame, allowing for wood expansion. Be sure your groove is not oversized, so the balls will stay in place during assembly. Great price for what is a lifetime supply for me
