About this item

  • ROGUE FLASH GEL LENS (1 Included): Using gels requires 2 Rogue Round Flash Magnetic Light Modifiers. Simply place gel(s) between any two of the stackable modifiers (Rogue Flash Gel Lens, Rogue Flash Grid 45, or Rogue Flash Diffuser Dome). The Rogue Flash Gel Lens is one component of the Rogue Round Flash Magnetic Light Modifier system for camera flashes.
  • COMPACT AND LIGHTWEIGHT: There’s no need to weigh yourself down with heavy light modifiers. The Rogue Flash Gel Lens weighs just 1oz (25g) and measures 3.1” wide x .4” tall (80x11mm).
  • OUR MAGNETS WONT FALL OUT: Unlike other magnetic modifiers, our unique design safely captures the neodymium magnets to prevent their escape. Made with durable high impact polycarbonate materials that will not chip or break.
  • ROUND FLASH COMPATIBILITY: Compatible with Flashpoint (XR2, 100 Pro, eVOLV 200), Godox (V1, R100, and HR200 head for AD200), Geekoto (GT 250, GTR), Neewer Z1, Westcott FJ80. Requires the Rogue PF Adapter (sold separately) to be compatible with Profoto flashes (A1, A1x, A10, A2).
  • RECTANGULAR FLASH COMPATIBILITY: Can be used with rectangular speedlight flashes when combined with the Rogue Flash Adapter (Standard or Small) (sold separately).

I got this for my Neewer Z2. It is more robust than the one that comes from Neewer.Don't get me wrong, the Neewer accessory kit is great, but this Rogue is way better. Wider spread and a bit more diffusing.Really happy with it.⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 🌴 📸

Weak magnets. I lost one at a session and replaced it with the same, just to lose it AGAIN. Magnets are so weak and it's much more expensive than competitor's versions.

I've bought these and for some reason thought that they were huge, they're not. If you've used a Sony V1 flash, they are the same size as the top of the V1 flash. For that flash they work very well as it has a magnetic deffuser that fits over the gel without interrupting the magnets. There are lots of colours to choose from and they can be stacked. I have only used it with my Sony V1 flash (I do not work for sony).

Short story is I just picked up my Rogue "round flash magnet light modifier"... (ok yes they need a catchier name) for my Godox V1 and short story is I love it! It mounts better on my flash since it has more magnets and allows for me to put gels right in it to color correct to match room light or get creative adding color to lights. It stores more easily and once in your hands you will see the build quality is very well done. It feels more professional and with the entire system.... which I am now buying after using this.... makes life so much easier at events. I have included a ton of images so that you can see what your getting and compare to the Godox equivalents. Now for more details. I exclusively shoot weddings and have been for more than 10 years. I have have used all kinds of light modifiers including MagMod and this system is more user friendly and way lighter with similar results. I have attached 7 images to help explain. 1 and 2 this unit and standard diffuser are similar but this obviously has better build quality and 6 magnets at the bottom vs 4 on the stock mod. 3rd pick shows the contact surface for the V1 which is just metal no magnets so you REALLY feel the difference with the Rogue Dome's extra 2 magnets. Important fact this is why some people say it falls off.... see picture 4. it is made to work with Rogue accessories not Godox ones. While it will attach not near as strongly since all Godox have 4 mags so the Rogue's 6 don't line up except for 2 magnets. Simple fix is to use Rogue accessories which are better anyway. Pictures 5 and 6 show both units with color correction gels added. It's a much easier process using Rogue even though in the picture I am using a cut up gel I placed inside the Rogue until my actual Rogue gel kit arrives. But the Rogue gel will pop in like this just cleaner and labeled. Last image shows 3 CTO (color temp orange) gels. This is why I am so excited for my Rogue ones..... in the picture there are CTO FULL, CTO 1/2 and CTO 1/4. But which is which? Rogue gels are marked so you know exactly what you are using to get the right results and quickly. (see the images they have on their listing of the gel pack to see) The whole system works with the V1 seemlessly making my job a little easier on wedding days.

I was torn between getting the Rogue modifier system and the Magmod system for my Godox V1. I went with Rogue primarily because the Rogue diffusion dome was smaller and more compact and it seemed proper for the V1 round head. All of the reviews and YouTube videos I saw on the Rogue kit talked about how strong the magnets were, especially compared to the kit made for the Godox V1. Boy was I in for a surprise! I was excited to use the kit for a wedding and it quickly devolved to embarrassment. This thing would fall off just by bringing my camera down from taking a shot! I was constantly picking it up off the floor and worse, guests in the venue bringing it to me because I didn't realize it had fallen off. I was constantly adjusting it thinking maybe it wasn't centered properly or I had to spin it a certain way to get the magnets to set properly, but the fact is the magnets just weren't strong enough. I've heard and seen where other photographers claim the magnets are really strong but my copy of the diffusion dome didn't provide those same results for me. Rather than risk another embarrassment at a wedding I decided to return all of my Rogue accessories and now I'm waiting on the Magmod kit to give it a try.
