Description:

The RockTower 68C passive tower speaker delivers audiophile grade sound quality at an unbeatable cost!

Design

The Rocktower series of speakers come in 3 beautiful finishes. This listing is for the classic wood grain. We also offer it in black grain, and white grain. The bottom of the speaker has a concealed and sturdy stand to finish the look. We also designed these to look great with the grills or without grills so you can rock the style you desire.

Power

The power handling is an incredible 125 watts RMS each speaker! Even if you over-power these a little it would be fine because we under-rate their RMS power. The peak burst rating is 500 watts.

3-Way smart configuration

This speaker is built with a very smart configuration. It is a 3-way speaker that separated the highs, mids, and bass to different drivers. We use (2) 6.5" woofers to drive the bass, and (1) 6.5" driver dedicated to the midrange frequencies, and a 1" silk dome tweeter for crystal clear high frequencies.

Enclosure

We enclose the speakers in a high quality MDF tower enclosure. (NO particle board Allowed!). We added a vent to the enclosure to give the low frequencies a boost. These sound great on their own and they sound even better with an added sub.

Rear panel

Our rear panel features everything you want in a passive speaker. The gold plated 5-way binding post terminals give the flexibility to use banana plugs, spade terminals, or bare wire.

Impedance options

This listing is for the 8 ohm version and it is perfect if you want to run 1 to each channel of your amplifier or if you want to run 2 in parallel to each channel of your amplifier.

The sound quality is excellent. I have had two tower speakers in my collection for decades and I just needed something else to enhance the quality of my game room. Purchasing these two speakers was well worth it and the price was very reasonable.

I needed towers for my home theater and these Rockville's are one of the tallest on the market(41.5"), they are also the least expensive. The speakers come nicely packed and were free of damage, I was shocked at the quality and how good they look. The 68 come in four colors and I opted for the classic oak. The tweeter and midrange have excellent off-axis sound. I tested the woofer frequency response with an audio test and they start to resonate around 40Hz with the -3dB at 60Hz, I set my subwoofer crossover to 60Hz and they sound great but 80Hz also sounds good. While the 68 have decent bass I highly recommend pairing these with a 10" or 12" subwoofer.

I originally ordered the woodgrain and then I saw there was black available so I really didn’t hear the word grain ones but I’m sure the exactly the same as the black colored ones. Or in fact, the white colored ones. I reviewed the black speakers, but I can still say this for theRockville 68 series. They are a good inexpensive speaker. Yes have their limitations but on a budget they sound great. I’m happy with them.

These speakers fill a large family with a “big” sound. Particularly bright clear highs strong midrange and unless you’re into heavy bass no subwoofer needed. I really wish l had not waited so long. I prejudged them based on price and was very wrong. They look great but even if they didn’t isn’t sound most important.

Added these to my home theatre setup to replace the cheap speakers that came with it. Amazing vocal clarity and descent bass but better when supplemented with a subwoofer.
