About this item

  • Technology: The flagship of the range, the Borea BR09 is a floorstander designed in the purest hi-fi tradition. In its 1.1 meters height, it comprises technology and Triangle know-how. Its three-way design allocates a transducer to each frequency range for a precise vocal reproduction and depth at low frequency, whilst maintaining a wide soundstage
  • High-Quality Sound: The BR09 provides a physical makeup similar to that of the most high-end systems. Its three 16cm bass drivers operate in a large bass-reflex enclosure, thus enabling the speaker to go down to 35Hz
  • Perfectly for Large Rooms: Thanks to its delivery of lower frequencies and its high-power handling, this speaker is perfectly suited to larger rooms (more than 30m2)
  • Protective Grill: This speaker has a magnetic protective grill, showing no visible inserts or screws. It is recommended to remove the grills when listening to the speakers, as they can impact the sound
  • Mid-Range Driver: The mid-range driver is made out of 100 percent natural cellulose paper

What sets the Borea BR09 Floor Standing Speaker apart is its meticulous design, inspired by the finest hi-fi traditions. Standing at 1.1 meters tall, this speaker is a testament to TRIANGLE's expertise, integrating advanced technology to deliver unparalleled sound quality. This three-way design speaker assigns a specific transducer to each frequency range, ensuring precise vocal reproduction and depth at low frequencies. It also maintains a broad soundstage, similar to high-end systems. The BR09 features three 16cm bass drivers that operate in a large "bass-reflex" enclosure, allowing the speaker to reach down to 35Hz. This capability, coupled with its high-power handling, makes this speaker ideal for larger rooms exceeding 30 sq. m.The Borea BR09 is equipped with BOREA Technologies, which incorporate research and innovations from the Esprit Ez range for uncompromised sound reproduction. The EFS Tweeter, a next-generation system, combines a 25mm silk dome with a specially developed phase plug to homogenize high-frequency diffusion. This system significantly reduces directivity, ensuring a clear reproduction of high frequencies regardless of your listening location. The midrange driver of the Borea range features a membrane made from 100% natural cellulose paper, with no surface treatment. This unique TRIANGLE feature avoids any coloration of intermediate frequencies, delivering stunning realism and tonality in voice reproduction. The low frequen

Bought these on special and all I can say is wow! Not a lot of of information out there on these. I bought them on a whim and I have zero regret. My use case is both Music and Home Theater. I have this paired with a Definitive audio center and some cheap Sony rears along with a 10” JBL sub and the whole system just sings to me. Having a sub with these is important, I thought I could get away with not having any, I was wrong.

For the price that I paid ($600 each), these speakers are outstanding. Since they are so natural sounding, they really excel for mixed usage (40% music, 30% podcasts, 30% background sounds). By "natural sounding", I mean that noises sound true-to-life (people talking, ambient nature sounds, etc). Play a recording of a thunderstorm, and you will quickly believe that it's truly raining outside (though, a sub is mandatory if you want the full thunderstorm experience). They also do a pretty good job at dispersing sound across the rooms, which makes them ideal for playing background music. The same cannot be said about my other pair of speakers (Heresy IV) which are 2x more expensive than the BR09's. While the Heresies are fine for music, the speakers are not as great for the other types of media. This may be related to the fact that the Heresies don't sound that great unless they are pointed directly at you, and dialog is not true-to-life. If I could only keep one, I'd definitely keep the BR09's.I see that the price has recently increased to $900. I think they are worth $900 from a sound quality perspective. However, there's quite a bit more competition at this price point, and you might want to look at other options as well. For example, the Focal Chora 826 is on sale for $700, and it is not as ugly as the BR09 when you take the grille off.
