Works for the price but wears down much too quick compared to the ones that came with my Harbor Fright drum sander.

Absolutely horrible. I could watch pieces of it flying off as I used it. Didn't even last one project. Spend the money on the brand name options.

This one works as well as the original that cost nearly twice as much.I use these to strip my 71 Charger to metal prior to Epoxy.

I'm just a metal working hobbyist and I've used these to quickly remove surface rust on all sides of six, heavy gauge, 20-foot 2" square pipes used as safety railings for my workshop.Works well, with some caveats. Keep moving the tool & wheel around or the abrasive will get rutted if the width of the metal or material being worked is narrower that the abrasive wheels.I am not convinced they save my much time or money when compared to flap-wheels.The abrasive non-woven abrasive material gets consumed quickly when one bears down to make the process faster. Yes, just allowing the weight of the machine works, but takes considerable more time.If these things were significantly less expensive, I'd say they are a better deal. Also, because these are consumable, there is a LOT of the non-woven material flying around (not just the rust!) I strongly suggest wearing protective gear for eyes and lungs. (And maybe use these outdoor if at all possible!)

So after stripping down an entire 1970 gmc pickup using these 3 brand drums (Eastwood, Bauer and this amazon drum) I'm convinced they are pretty much all the same product with a different brand sticker. Eastwood is around $50 plus shipping if not local and harbor freight $40. When this $30 drum delivered to your door step with next day free shipping seems like the best bang for the buck.

This drum did a very nice job stripping away 37 year old car paint. Just wish it lasted a little longer. Very aggressive so don’t bare down too hard or you”ll start removing metal.

I used this with an Eastwood SCT to strip the hood, tom and read deck lid on a 1966 Plymouth. It removed the paint and primer to bare metal much quicker than a DA sander. I did find that if I occasionally removed and reversed the roll direction it worked better.
