The product is very well made, however, the instructions are a disaster. The size of nuts, bolts and the torque for each size does not match the product provided. Multiple calls to the customer service were necessary to determine how to properly align attachments to the product. In my case the aluminum band had to be adjusted to accommodate the 90 degree rotation of attachment points. If this is the case case with your unit be sure to make that you make the adjustment of the aluminum band and spring prior to install. Also be really careful with the aluminum bolt and nut as the bolt head is soft and can be smoothed off before you get the bolt tight enough. To Roadmaster's credit they did replace my damaged bolt and nut but, that meant another trip under my motor coach to fix. Once on and adjusted properly the unit does bring added control to loose steering, pushing and pulling when passing and being passed by 18 wheelers and shoving from wind gusts. I would buy it again but, wish the instructions were better.

Was easy to install. Only drove motorhome for one hour reduced rut tracking and cross wind movements. Would recommend it. Only time will tell how it will stand up.

This looks like a well made product. I have not had a chance to drive our motorhome with this installed yet. The installation is pretty straightforward, you will need the mounting bracket set because this is just the steering stabilizer. I have used these on other vehicles and they are a good upgrade.I installed this myself without a lift in under an hour. The nuts on the leaf spring u-bolts are tight and are compression nuts so they are the most work for this installation. Once that bracket is installed it's pretty easy going from there. The steering stabilizer is long and weighs close to 17 lbs according to the shipping label.Make sure your tires are pointed straight before you tighten the tie rod bracket. If your vehicle doesn't track straight or you feel like you have to "fight the steering wheel" to track straight down the road you need to move the tie rod bracket. This isn't a flaw in the stabilizer or mounting brackets, it's an issue with not having the tires aimed straight during installation. It might take a couple of attempts but it is well worth the effort. The directions are easy to understand but a few more pictures or diagrams would make it easier, especially if you haven't installed a product like this. The ½" washers go on both sides of the steering stabilizer, much like a shock absorber, not on top of the mounting brackets. (Bolt through the mounting bracket hole, washer, steering stabilizer, washer, nut.)The tools I needed for my installation were: long handle breaker bar, ratchet wrench,1⅛" deep socket, ¾" socket, (all ½"drive) ¾" box end wrench, 9/16" deep socket either ½" or ⅜" drive.

Installed on a 2017 Allegro sitting on a Ford F53 26k chassis. We’d previously felt that the steering was sloppy and steering wheel inputs were excessive. After installation, the sloppiness was gone and steering wheel inputs were reduced to what you’d expect in a passenger car, maybe a little bit more. The nicest benefit, IMO, is the return to center. Now instead of working to turn the steering wheel to turn the coach and then working to turn the steering wheel to get it back straight, I just have to turn the wheel to turn the coach and it comes back to center on its own. Not a big issue on the highway, but sure is convenient getting in and around campsites and city streets.Have not had to test it on a front tire blowout situation, and hopefully never will, but I imagine it’d keep the coach going much straighter than without the Stabilizer.Installation was quite simple and I’ve got average mechanical ability. Just need to make sure you order the right mounting kit for your coach (purchased separately). The folks at Roadmaster answer emails within 24 hours and of course you could contact them the old fashioned way and call them. Very helpful folks.Overall cost for this steering stabilizer and bracket was between $350 and $400. Well. Worth. The. Money.

My 1999 National Sea View 33' was an absolute nightmare to drive. I have a commercial DL and used to drive semis, flatbeds, and bob-tails through rain, snow, wind, and sleet. However, nothing scared me more than driving this dang RV. The wind would blow me into the next lane and trucks passing by would push me onto the shoulder. This thing required every ounce of concentration to keep it under control and on the road. You couldn't take your hand off the wheel for even a second; not even to take a sip off a bottle of water. A four hour drive in this thing would leave you beaten up, stressed out, and completely exhausted. Not fun! After two years of owning this rig, I finally had enough. Though the rig tracked fairly straight, I took it in for an alignment. This was actually some help as they took some of the play out of the steering wheel; enough to take a sip of water anyhow. The next step was to install the Roadmaster RSSA steering stabilizer. Though I am about average mechanical skills, I was afraid this was going to be more difficult than it was. I mean, one frozen or broken bolt and I'd be screwed. On an 18 year old RV, that was more than just a possibility. Fortunately, the bolts were easy to access and came off fairly easily after they soaked a couple hours in penetrating oil. The rest of the installation was a piece of cake. The road test went perfectly and I didn't have to re-adjust anything. Immediately, I noticed the steering was much stiffer, tracked true, and returned to center more or less on it's own. To me, it felt like the commercial vehicles I used to drive for 8-10 hours per day. Very manageable and safe. Almost drives itself now. My family is s happy and not in fear for their lives every time we take a trip. By far, this is the single best thing I have ever purchased for my RV. My only regret is not purchasing it sooner.
