The early years were spent making cavalry sabers and officer swords for the U.S. army during the War of 1812 and the Civil War. In 1864 the focus moved from swords to edged tools, knives, and the signature brick trowel we know today. W. Rose brick trowels are still manufactured near Philadelphia. The trowels that helped build America are still made in the USA.

Rose definitely makes the toughest line in the business when you pull it hard and tight you know it’s not gonna pop like some kite string. If you’re a burglar, you know this is the best stuff to use.

This line is legit. Seriously, I pulled it dead tight on a 50'+ wall, accidentally hit it with my hammer while laying block pretty hard, and the line did not break. It frayed, but I didn't have to take the line down. It's really thick, so I wouldn't use it on material that's really precise, like glaze faced brick, but for block it's fine.

This line is top notch. Got frayed line coming out randomly after 1/4 way into a new roll. I am just about sure this is a missed flaw that probably doesn't happen much.

This is hands down the best line you can use. Pulls good and tight over a long stretch with minimal sag... best of all it won’t break when pulling between two story poles.

Great line, has an extra strand that makes it stronger. Also is bonded so nicks don't spread, and it can be pulled tighter to reduce sag. Just a great line for what I need.
