Why your need it?
As with quick connect connections, a clean, straight cut tube inserted firmly and all the way in results in leak free connections.This tool combined with firm insertion and elbows where needed will ensure leak free connections. You may can also use razor knife or side cuts. But a razor knife is great at cutting them but the risk of cutting yourself is also great. Using side cuts smashes the tubing before it actually cuts it and the cut is not that clean which will cause problems when you try to out it in the fitting.
How to use it?
Put the air line in and press down or squeeze the cutter to cut it. Make sure to keep the line straight as possible for a clean straight cut. Hold the tubing in your off hand, bring the cutter ends together with your main hand with light pressure and rotate it back and forth with your wrist. When turning upside down, a little bolt will lock the cutter in closed position. You can unlock by rotating again by 180 degrees. Make sure your tube is sitting correctly and you'll get a clean and square cut every time.

Only planned on using this once so didn't want to spend a lot of money. Used it to cut the air lines on air shocks for my truck. It cuts like butter and clean straight cuts. For 6 bucks cant beat it

I had an RO plumbing project where I ended up making quite a few cuts of 1/4” OD tubing. Hold the tubing in your off hand, bring the cutter ends together with your main hand with light pressure and rotate it back and forth with your wrist. Nice and sharp. And it makes clean, even, round cuts, which is the whole point. Good cuts are the secret to long-lasting, leak-free push fitting connections.

For the price I wasn't expecting much but ended up being impressed. My project involved cutting poly tubing for a refrigerator water/ice line. I expected to have to resort to a sharp utility knife to get clean cuts but this bugger cut straight, clean, and easily on 1/4" tubing. Clean cuts are vital to a leak-free seal and this cutter paid for itself easily.
