Measurements are in Microns only. Doesn't take much effort to have the corresponding MIL thickness on the other side , but it is blank.Definitely not made for use in the US, as most our stuff is in MIL thickness not Micron .Would be better off getting one with BOTH units if you plan on using it in the USA -- as most coatings are in MIL not Micron.

It is hard for me to know exactly how accurate this is in micron terms, however putting it against a flat edge and holding to the light, I can see a clear step between the teeth, which get progressively larger. Most importantly it's helped me understand wet film thickness and so will ensure I get a good finish on a very tricky paint I'm using. It's been a nightmare to use. And I'm pretty sure that despite my best efforts it's been going on too thick in places. I've thinned it down with owatrol, so now should get it right with this.

Good value. I wish they'd make a similarly priced one in mils/thousandths of an inch.
