After reading the reviews I was a bit worried that I would lose the view of my front door. But not the case…as seen in the pic I included, I get a full view of my door may both sides as well as the area around my door. I tested it out and put a small package on the left, middle and right of my door. I could see them on my camera each time. So this is a win for me. Glad I purchased it.

Got this so I can see the packages below the camera works good, try to see if this works for you do like a before and after to make sure you’re not missing a spot.

This accessory is a perfect fit replacement for the peephole cam's original face plate. It's easy to install, simply remove the camera from the door (you might be able to get away with just loosening it a bit so you don't risk damage to your ribbon cable) and pull off the original face plate that's snapped onto the camera body, and snap this one in its place with the mirror facing downward. It's that simple. The pics are accurate for what you'll see through the camera. This doesn't improve your naked eye view through the door viewer/peephole in any way.Here's how it can be improved. There's a lot of wasted view space with this camera, at least where I live, where the upper part of the recording is just a very clear view of a very unremarkable ceiling. If my door faced directly toward the outdoors, I would have a lovely view of the tree canopy or the second floor of another building or just the sky. The mirror also blocks the view of the walkway directly in front of my door, so I can't see peoples hands or feet or whatever. What would help me more would be to move that mirror to the top part of the camera instead of covering the bottom, making the top part of the view a glimpse of my doormat instead of several feet of ceiling space.My other complaint is that this only comes in a satin nickel color finish unlike the other interchangeable doorbell covers for this Ring product or others. Maybe if this was the default option and an unobstructed faceplate was optional, we could have better options overall.

Gives me a good view of my placemat. Does obscure some of the view, but that is ok with us. Ring let's us see enough.

I recently purchased the Ring Peephole Cam Package View Faceplate and unfortunately, I was not satisfied with its performance. Despite its promises, I found that this faceplate does not show much of the view of the package at all. In fact, it ended up cutting off most of the view of the original camera, which was a major disappointment.I had high hopes for this product, as I often receive important packages that I need to keep an eye on. However, the Ring Peephole Cam Package View Faceplate simply did not live up to my expectations. The installation was easy enough, but the actual functionality of the product was severely lacking.I feel like I wasted my money on this faceplate and I would not recommend it to others who are looking for a reliable way to monitor their packages. It is simply not worth the price for the subpar performance that it provides.Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience with the Ring Peephole Cam Package View Faceplate. I would give it two stars at best, and that's only because the installation process was easy. If you're looking for a reliable way to monitor your packages, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I LOVE the idea of this two way view finder case. But it didn't work well for me at all. I have a screen door in front of the storm door. The cam is installed in the storm door. When I tried to view what was delivered, all that would show up on the camera was the top of my door decoration. Nothing more. I am very disappointed.

If this item was offered by a third party manufacturer, I would not been AS surprised that this item is useless. But since it is a RING product, I was shocked to learn that it has a serious design flaw. It is a replacement faceplate with a horizontal mirrored piece which is supposed to reflect the view of the bottom of your front door where your doormat sits. But all I saw was the exact view of my door mat that can be seen WITHOUT this item. In addition, the horizontal shelf is prominently visible through the peephole, obstructing a clean view of anything or anyone at your door. The fish eye aspect of your existing RING peephole camera gives a pretty good view of your front door area. I can see most deliveries left outside unless the package leaned against the front door and is less than 12” high. I don’t even know why I ordered this item. It is totally unnecessary. If deliveries are so important that I need to SEE them through my peephole camera when I’m not at home, then I need a second camera mounted ABOVE or ACROSS from my front door!

This is exactly what I'm looking for. Although I didn't give it 5 stars because it does cover up a large portion of the viewing area. It would be better if Ring can create a v2 of the faceplate with transparent material. A v2 of the peephole cam would be allow users to adjust/control viewing angle.

Design is poor. It sits at the bottom of the camera and blocks my porch and part of the walkway. The Door View Cam tilts upwards because you tighten it at the top. The design team could have used that knowledge to put the mirror at the top of the camera to give a great view of the ground without obstructing anything else. Who wants to look at the sky or the ceiling? This could have been perfect. Overall, it is a fail. Also, a good part of the mirror view is blocked by the “Home Bar” on newer iPhones. There is no way to get rid of it on the Ring app (even when watching recorded videos). I had to return it.On a positive note, installation is a lot easier than the instructions. It says take apart your whole device on both sides just to replace the front cover. I was able to remove the original cover without removing the doorbell. Taking this cover off was a lot harder, though.A note about Ring: The Door View Cam (peephole) is a great doorbell and camera. The biggest issue is that the service is somewhat unreliable. Ring has contacted me to help resolve issues and I’m hopeful that it is working well enough that I will subscribe to Ring Protect.

I agree with many of the reviewers that there are certainly design flaws and should come as a standard included attachment but it does the job. It does create a blind spot but if you are in an apartment you likely aren’t too put out without the full view. I think this could be partially remedied by using a transparent material for the bridge that holds the mirror.

One of the biggest complaints about the Ring Peephole Camera is that the camera cannot pick up items left directly below the door. This solution is better than nothing, but could be more innovative. I think owners of the Ring camera deserve a better upgrade to address this problem. The fact that it is an extra cost and blocks part of the screen, makes it functional but a bit disappointing. The software for the camera is excellent and always improving. I expect there will a better solution when the next version is released. I spoke with a RING rep and she was exceptional. She was interested in my feedback and shared some insights into the product that were very helpful. I will definitely consider other RING products in the future. With this one, know that it solves a problem for now.
