This is a dream come true really. While flight simming I have to push my full sized keyboard behind my yoke, making typing very cumbersome. I picked up a smaller Bluetooth keyboard to keep off to the side, but that wasn't ideal either due to having to scoot over to use it as intended (with hands on the home keys!).Now I have this handheld keyboard and man is it nice. It's really plug and play on my windows 11 pc. Just plugged the dongle into my USB hub and it worked right away, no setup required. Now it's always available sitting on top of the yoke, so now entering airport codes, frequencies, whatever, is as easy as reaching for it and using it, and works very well.Seems well made with responsive keys and a logical way of using the shift and function keys to obtain special characters and/or the Fkeys. Backlight works well and changing the color scheme is effortless. The mouse track pad also works very well, which was a surprise to be honest. I didn't think it would be useful, but I'm finding that I'm reaching for my mouse less and less. Yeah, it works that well. And this is coming from someone who really doesn't care for laptop track pads. Also, very glad it has a rechargeable battery, just plug it in after every flight and it's ready to go next time.Overall, a very well thought out devise. Highly recommend.

This is awesome. Works flawlessly and is super compact. Has a rechargeable battery and a nice analogue on/off switch. Also goes to sleep when inactive. Backlit keyboard. Used with TV, Raspberry pi, PC. Would buy again. Battery lasts ages too.

Stopped working after 10 months? For $60, I expected it to work for at least a couple years! Third mini-keyboard I bought from Amazon in as many months! Would not recommend buying any mini- keyboards from Amazon! Go to Best Buy where at least you get a year or two warranty!

I have been using these for a while now. About a year. I went to exchange the one that wasn’t working when it started to work again. But I had already requested a replacement. I kept both and had to pay for the second one and that’s fine.So the devices are great, but they are weird. They will work perfectly for a long time and then one will stop working for about 3 days. Then I swap to the other one during that time. I think it may be a moisture issue. If you look at the touchpad on both, the circuit board is slightly exposed on the right side. What I believe is happening is moisture is getting in and temporarily shorting it out, but once it is dry, it works perfectly again. It stays charged for a long time and doesn’t take long to charge. 1 night of charge gets me about a month of use. I haven’t had to swap to the other one in about 6-8 months now. I love these devices, but because of the issue that I mentioned, it is impossible to give it five stars. If they can fix that issue on the next iteration of this keyboard, I will easily give it five stars. It’s not laggy, all of the buttons feel great, I can type fairly quick with it. Everything else about this handheld keyboard is perfect. It has its own FN key and those functions are really helpful.Oh no, my app froze. I need to open the task manager. Easy. Hold FN then press Enter. If you choose to get one of these, you won’t be disappointed. But if you run into the issue that I have, I suggest just having one as a backup. Both of mine will do this, but like I said, it’s been almost 8 months since the last time I had this issue.Get it.Old review: Today is day 9 of owning this device. I owned one of the older models of the Rii and it was an absolutely fantastic device.I bought this one as a replacement and it worked like a charm at first. Now the right half of the touchpad doesn’t work. You can actually look down into the right side of the touchpad and see the pcb and gridded pcb pads that look like they should have been under the touchpad.Even the left side isn’t working great now though. Its spotty to use until I figure out how to get a replacement.I really wanted to love this device because it was fantastic at first. But I can’t even get 2 weeks before the product stops functioning properly? I hope this one is just a lemon and that the next one works better, but seeing that I can now no longer use it. 1 star.

The Rii X8 mini keyboard has an unexpectedly high build quality feel to it. The keyboard keys have just the right amount of resistance (for me anyways), but they are not loose or wobbly nor have to be pressed "just right" like a lot of other mini keyboards I've tried. I've tried a LOT of similar style mini keyboards for my HTPC computers and the X8 definitely has the highest quality keys/buttons of all of them. They keys are that kind of softish rubbery type material that is common on higher price tier devices. They don't feel cheap or wonky. The back light, a feature sorely missing from most mini keyboards, I think is just right. There are a few colors to cycle thru. None of the colors are vibrant or rich but they do the job and, perhaps most importantly, are not too bright, so as to be distracting during a movie and draw too much from the battery. The touchpad is just a skoosch better than most of the other comparable devices I've tried. I think they all use the exact same hardware for the TouchPad, but the X8 has a bit of a textured feel that somehow make it feel just a little easier to be precise. Like the back light, the touchpad does its job adequately. The wheel: What sets the Rii X8 apart from anything else I've seen is the scroll wheel.I already have a multitude of mini keyboards and wasn't even looking for one, but saw the X8 by chance in Amazon recommended and had to try the scroll wheel. What a fantastic thing they've done here. It's a total game changer for the mini-keyboard market, IMO. I think most people who have tried using mini keyboards full time for HTPC (or anything else) would probably agree with me that what ultimately kills the experience with these is trying to scroll. I've bought so many of this and similar style mini keyboards with integrated touchpad, just trying to find one that had good - or even decent and consistent, two finger scrolling. After so many fails, I just gave up and use a trackball and mini keyboard with one HTPC and a Logitech K400 for another. (both without back light, I might add)The scroll wheel on the X8 effectively solves the primary delimma of almost every other device in this class. I can now scroll thru Netflix, Hulu, etc, with ease - while having a backlit keyboard and not needing to reach for a second device.(FWIW, I've been using the X8 with my Kubuntu HTPC, using web apps for streaming services.)It's only been two weeks, but I feel comfortable saying this is easily the best mini keyboard with integrated touchpad that I've ever bought. If there was a mid or upper-mid tier class of mini keyboard, the X8 (at this price point) would be punching up at that class.

So device is plug and play, however there is no error messages, no setting and no configurations. In my case I plugged in in to my media PC and... it would work for one button press then disconnect. after 5hours of debugging and testing with multiple computers I found out the problem was a bad USB 3.0 port on my pc. Kind of port works fine for everything else my not this remote; however in the end it does work. Battery life is.. unknown as it's plugged in till needed but it did survive a rainy day binge watching session so it's 'good enough'. The overall look and feel, is cheap light plastic feel more like a kids toy. Function, not bad, no stop button though which is kind of annoying but not a deal breaker. RGB... not everything needs RGB but whatever you can turn it off.All said and done would I buy this product again; No I don't think so, for a plug and play device it's to much of a hassle next time I'll look else where.
