But it is perfect for my needs. In process of cleaning out all of my containers for my garden. I don't have a huge amount of compost to work with, so this little guy is just perfect. I'm kinda amazed at how tightly compacted my containers were; working with this sifter has really helped loosen the soil and clean out all the excess 'stuff' in the compost.it is quite well made, although I do recommend gloves. Pretty easy to catch the occasional splinter. (It is well sanded, but when you are sifting and bouncing it up/down, you can still snag a splinter)

Takes about 5 or 6 rounds of sifting to fill a medium size pot. Would’ve liked if the length and width were a couple of inches bigger, which would speed up the process without weighing too much.

It’s kind of well constructed but much too small for my garden use. I read the dimensions but was hoping it was larger. A few of other customers who bought this item said it was too small. They were surely right. Look like it was make for a child.Disappointed Gardner 😢

Beautifully constructed. I expect to use it for years. It is small though. If you need to sift lots of compost, this would be tiny. But for someone who wants to sift a bucket of coir or compost, it’s perfect.

This product works for shifting my compost from larger decomposing vegetables, fruits and tree cuttings. Whatever doesn't go through the shifter goes back into the compost pile. I try to separate my worms prior to shifting, but few still goes in. I don't mind, they go directly to my garden and will benefit there too. If you're using this to shift worm eggs, you might get disappointed, worm eggs go through the shifter.

I originally bought this to take with me while rock hunting in the mountains of my home state. When I recieved it, I must say I was a little disappointed, however the first time I used it, I changed my mind. It is smaller than the sifters I was use to using by a good 6 inches width and 4 inches length. I have rheumatoid arthritis and in using the bigger sifter, I tired more easily. I was not able to use the bigger sifter for more than an hour or so before my hands began to ache. In using this sifter for the first time just the other day, the first thing I noticed was the decrease in strain on my hands and wrist. It made sifting much easier for me and it resulted in my being able to continue for more than two hours! That is twice the time I could with the larger one. Moral of the story? Bigger is not always better. I love this sifter and will taking it with me again tomorrow!
