Added to the basic set. Very good sound. Wife uses with children's Sunday School class for Christmas and Easter. Always a hit and the kids (even the boys) focus like a laser on their timing and technique.

I surprised my kids at church with these additional bells this week, and they were thrilled! These have a good solid, on-pitch tone. I've tested all my bells' tones against the tone of my digital piano, and they are pitched perfectly. The bells are the perfect weight and size for kids, but the children need to be told not to play with the ringer as it is on a spring that can be stretched out of place, ruining the bell. I tell them to only handle the handle of the bell...nothing else. I do wish the label had the names of the corresponding flat notes on them. Some of the kids were a little confused at first that there only sharps and no flats.

These bells are the sharps to add to the 8 bell set, for one octave. Great quality. Adults used the bells at Christmas when we went caroling at a nursing home. Good clear sounds and right on key! Quality, but not a professional set, of course! The colors should give that away! The clappers are on a spring, so they don't function like the professional set, but they are great for beginning adults who aren't interested in becoming a real bell choir, and durable for kids! Now we need the next sets so we can increase our range flexibility.

I learned a lot about children's hand bells in trying to get a wide range scale. I have very little music background, so I learned through multiple orders what I should have done in the first place. A regular set of eight bells (normal scale) will not cut it if you want to play many songs. The add-on set helps, but if you want to play Christmas songs (which is the common reason for acquiring children's bells), the the add-on bells are still not enough of the scale. Kid's Play also has another set of bells (can't remember if the set has five or six...) that hit the higher and lower notes. Amazon does not sell these. I found them on the Groth music website. You can get the entire set of twenty bells for $100 plus shipping.

I bought these and one other "add-on" kit for our children's handbell group, because I have run out of Christmas songs I can transpose into an 8 key C octave! They ring well, and sound just like the other bells we use. Very pleased with this purchase and now I have so many more songs I can teach our children.

It's great to have the chromatic extension set. I tried to get the sets of 25 bells, but was pressed for time, so I got the 8 bell set plus the chromatic add-on set plus the extended partial octave set. Kids loved them (and so did their parents).
